Hi folk!
Would you be so kind to send me the EXIF information of your image? O even better the image itself? I've been testing and if the image contain the creation date as EXIF data, it is preserved.

Hi,
I've tried with several images and all of them were maintaining the EXIF information (including the Date) when they were uploaded to Google Photos.
Having no way to test the problem you were mentioning I'm going to close the issue, but if the problem is still persisting, just open it again adding a file to test... Thanks
