opencl_workshop's Issues

Is the program source (hot function) required to be in C/C++ for utilization of PyOpenCL, or can I somehow use existing Python code?

I found this project after seeing your talk Parallel Programming with (Py)OpenCL for Fun and Profit on YouTube. Thanks for making this material available, it's good work, kudos.

In the third cell of the Programming Fancy Devices (with OpenCL) Solutions notebook you show program source code that appears to be C/C++ code. My question is whether or not we can use Python code as program source for PyOpenCL? I ask because I bristle at rewriting into C/C++ the non-trivial amount of Python code that I want to parallelize in a GPU using PyOpenCL.

My impression at this point is that there's no getting around a rewrite into C/C++ and I just need to face the music. Can you advise?

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.
