That certainly sounds like something you could incorporate tarpc into. Generally speaking, tarpc should be suitable for any kind of request-response style networking. There is still a lot of churn in tokio right now, which is why there hasn't been a tokio-based tarpc release yet. I expect there will be one in the coming weeks.
