Thanks for your work! I like your approach, and have built something very similar - but added a select repeat ARQ implementation to make the stream reliable. I also replaced the XBee library with the simpler Bee.c which saves memory and appears to reduce the error rate.
My backend gateway is writtin in nodejs, and I am looking to port it to C++. It may be we can combine our efforts. Do you have a Linux side working or is your project Duino <-> Duino only?
