Discrete compactness measures (in geo_discrete_measures, and unmerged in compactness_measures) use iteration of container and cells to cross join compare every geometric pairing. GDF.intersects run on each row of GDF. Instead, intersects method can run on entire GDF and return vector of Booleans. Count of Trues is the number of intersecting geometries (or contained, etc.) Doing it this way will be faster.

Code exists currently in utm_projections branch to find correct UTM zone for spatial geometry. This code is currently a process run on a specific test geodataframe. The algorithm needs to be generalized and encapsulated in a function so that it can be called from other programs and applied to any geodataframe.
