Sample message data

Screencast update showing progress from this weekend.
https://vimeo.com/223027225/6f0ab28410

Would be good to record a sample OSC data set I can playback in Touch. Easy to do once next hooked up to Max. I can talk you through it remotely or meet up.

I'm generating values to test the work so far

test show displays with touch

Pls test test-layout.toe with your actual show hardware to confirm Touch resolution desired is correctly mapped.

I'll document how to switch the live show toe from 1 to 2 to 3 displays for dev purposes

Update on codebase & UI preferences

Can I get a steer on this?

I haven't been able to build the launcher as yet so it would be good to chat a bit more about your UI preferences. Touch allows you to

  • use the visual coding "network" UI
  • build new UI components, including a library of standard-ish widgets (e.g. button, slider templates)
  • go crazy with new layers of abstraction or low level data mungling
  • remote control things from another program

I've started pulling together tank creation tools and made a screencast showing current state.
https://vimeo.com/221610745/19cb48ea29

and pushed in an initial touch file shader.toe

I tend to sketch out apps with broad brush strokes then hone in on any UI needs once the core flow working. I couldn't actually find any C++ in the codebase (are there any other files?) so not clear how suli ram made. Could just be some Lua and shaders.

Since many of the effects are already written as shaders I decided to start with the shader route after all. There might be some value in porting some/all to Touch. The GLSL (shader language) version used is quite old and not supported directly by Touch but I should be able to convert. As you can see from the video, it keeps things really smooth and looks really nice (I got up to a 1M bokehs on my laptop) but would be good to check I'm on the right track before going further.

ColloidSize

I've implemented ColloidSize and a new toe mock-max to simulate Max patch

Pushed into new testing branch so master branch is still rc2 as tested onsite.

Preferable to try out new features with me in case I've broken something else.
