If we don't upgrade we potentially miss out on improvements and important fixes.
Currently the following libs are used:

Just a quick thought to add a screenshot in the readme to make it clear this is about graphical views of metrics
Overview of the Feature Request
It would be great to also have in the metrics a graph with the number of accounts.
A pie chart of the different account types distribution could also be nice but would need to be discussed.
What inspired the request?
It is often asked by the project governance and a nice way to assess the growth of the installations.
Any open or closed issues related to this feature request?
IQSS/dataverse-metrics#32 already proposed adding account numbers
Community involvement
If not deemed irrelevant by the community or done before, INRAE will do it early 2024.
After the (kind of rough) removal of the global parts and having Github 'Extract' the repo we should make some improvements in the documentation. For instance, it would be good to mention the previous fork in the README.
Currently the metrics webpage (index.html) does not have the version number of the dv-metrics
release used.
This makes it cumbersome to check what version has been deployed and thus if upgrades have been done.
The initial idea is to just add that version info to the footer of that page.
Most rows have two graphs (or charts), but on some DV instances the graphs are crammed and you want each one to have the whole row, so it has more space to render.
The current 'out-of-the-box' style could be more acceptable to users if it was more like Dataverse. For instance, the font familie is now very different. Also the 'download CSV' buttons are a bit different from downloading buttons in Dataverse.
We should provide a simple but sufficient style as default and at the same time allow for customization.
The documentation now suggests using tidy, js-beautify and jshint, but it looks like that has not been done for a while. We should make the documentation match with what we have, or remote it.
@PaulBoon will there be a separate repo for the global metrics app (or is there), and is there documentation on installing the global app? thank you.
