🤝 How to Contribute

For sending PR:-

  • Pick an open issue from the issue list and claim it in the comments. After approval fix the issue and send us a pull request (PR).
  • All the PR’s need to be sent to the appropriate branch.

For Open issue:-

  • You can create a new issue and send a pull request.
  • Please go through our issue list first (open as well as closed) and make sure the issue you are reporting does not replicate an issue already reported. If you have issues on multiple pages, report them separately. Do not combine them into a single issue.

Important points

On Front End:

  • Implement a feature to add Tasks. Implement a feature to set the due date for these tasks.

On Back end:

  • Implement the backend in one of the desired Tech-Stacks provided below. Your backend is supposed to store all the tasks data received from the Frontend and store it in the Database. You are also supposed to implement a Database in the Backend which should store all this structured data. The data sharing between Frontend and Backend should be in JSON format rendered over REST APIs. Zip all your Source Code, Screenshots, Deployment Instructions and Upload.

How to run the app locally?

This project was bootstrapped with Create React App.

Available Scripts

In the project directory, you can run:

npm start

Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in the browser.

The page will reload if you make edits.
You will also see any lint errors in the console.

npm test

Launches the test runner in the interactive watch mode.
See the section about running tests for more information.

npm run build

Builds the app for production to the build folder.
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.

The build is minified and the filenames include the hashes.
Your app is ready to be deployed!

See the section about deployment for more information.

npm run eject

Note: this is a one-way operation. Once you eject, you can’t go back!

If you aren’t satisfied with the build tool and configuration choices, you can eject at any time. This command will remove the single build dependency from your project.

Instead, it will copy all the configuration files and the transitive dependencies (webpack, Babel, ESLint, etc) right into your project so you have full control over them. All of the commands except eject will still work, but they will point to the copied scripts so you can tweak them. At this point you’re on your own.

You don’t have to ever use eject. The curated feature set is suitable for small and middle deployments, and you shouldn’t feel obligated to use this feature. However we understand that this tool wouldn’t be useful if you couldn’t customize it when you are ready for it.

todoista's Issues

Contributors Image In Readme

I think it is a great feature to add contributors image in README file. It really motivate to contributors. It is dynamically order the contributors.

contrimga

If you want to this feature on README so I want to do this issue @garimasingh128 !!

axios promise isn't allowed to complete before redirection to root

axios.post('http://localhost:5000/exercises/add', exercise)
  .then(res => console.log(res.data));

window.location = '/';

Modifying window.location outside the promise returned by axios causes the application to reload before the request is successfully complete. Hence, the API call fails.
I would like to be assigned this issue.

Contributors image in README

I think it is a great feature to add contributors' images in the README file. It really motivates contributors. It dynamically orders the contributors.
If you want this feature on README so I want to do this issue, please assign this to me.
This will make the README look good.

Demo

Add ISSUE TEMPLATES

Adding issue templates will help with project workflow.
I suggest adding two different templates suitable for this project:

  1. For bug report
  2. For PR request.

Can you assign me this?

Form is not working

On the create ToDo Log page the form that takes s username is not working.
I can work on this issue if you assign it to me

Deploying on Heroku

This app would be more useful if we deploy it on Herkou, assign me this issue I will work on it.

feat: Checkbox for marking those task which are done.

There can be a checkbox for every individual task and when clicked the particular task text should get a line through and it should go at the end of the list with lighter text, also the button of edit should be disabled when the checkbox is checked.

I'd like to work on this once approved.

Update .gitignore

Update .gitignore

The .gitignore file needs to be updated to ignore files from within the backend directory too. Currently, the commits are polluted with the backend/node_modules directory.

list of users

you can display users who are using this website seperately to boost your website

Feature discussion

Current Features

Logged Exercises
Your todo list
Create todo Logged
Create User
Start date and deadlines included

We need to add more features. List any ideas in comments that you have and I will create an issue for it.

navbar.component.js

We have also add hover effect in navbar this navbar looks very simple and not looks quite good

Component distribution

Try dividing the whole app into smaller components. For example: create a separate component for both header and footer.

To style the Navbar

Except the logo, the navbar can be styled by making the components float to the right which will make the navbar more attractive. If you consider this issue, please assign me this mam @garimasingh128 . I would love to work on this.

Adding a pull request template.

I feel that under NJACK, there will be a lot of PRs on this project. So a pull request template would help the maintainer to review Pull request more effectively and efficiently.

Authentication feature to the app.

Authentication feature should be added to the app which will enable each user to have their personal list of tasks instead of showing all the tasks in public.

Hosting on Heroku

Host the website on Heroku as currently it is hosted on Netlify and it doesn't works or updates as it should be

Also, update the readme and documentation with proper Links after hosting.

Add a bot to moderate the issue request and the feature request

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
This bot would help a first time contributor so that that contributor can follow this project's contribution guidelines. We can link our issue template, pull request template and code of conduct here.It will contain newIssue Welcome comment, newPR Welcome comment, firstPR welcome comment, etc.

We can use a GitHub App built with probot that welcomes new users when they open their first issue. You can use this welcome message to provide links to resources like the contributing guidelines, code of conduct, etc. It should be located in a .github/config.yml

Demo 1

Demo 2

Add a GitHub action to auto-assign Mentors for every PR

We can add a GitHub action to auto-assign mentors for every PR. It sometimes becomes hectic for the mentors to take a look at all the Projects for the PRs made by the Contributors. This action would give a nice notification about reviewing the pr and make things pretty easy for the mentor. It would automatically ask for reviews by the mentors on every pr created.

Demo :

Better logo, name, fonts and wallpaper

Suggest your ideas for a better name, font families we can use, different wallpapers, and color combinations for the whole app. We will make a separate design folder and put all design resources and ideas in that.
