From Tony: Currently our practice is to delete both the MeSH a d LCSH authority records from the files of mapped headings.

However, NLM usually suggests a different MeSH heading to be used when indexing or cataloging a bibliographic item discussing the concept represented by the deleted heading. In some cases the suggested MeSH heading can still be mapped to an LCSH heading, so we always investigate this possibility.

My questions are mostly of the "this didn't map to LCSH - would someone mind confirming" variety, but there were two other minor issues I wanted to share for feedback. One was "Pimenta", which seemed to already be mapped but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. The other was the Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander term, which had been mapped to Aboriginal Australians. This didn't seem right with the scope, so I adopted the solution described below.
