the linux-boundary recipe does not build on the dunfell branch.

While working to upgrade the Documentation to kirkstone, I've faced a build error:

When using this machine then it ends up using the wrong serial console in the inittab, making it impossible to log in on the UART console, it would instead try to spawn a getty on a non-existing interface from meta-freescale's imx-base.inc which is SERIAL_CONSOLE = "115200 ttymxc0" and takes precedence. Such a device does not exist on the colibri machine with the linux-toradex kernel.

It seems I can make it behave correctly if I replace the assignment of SERIAL_CONSOLE in the machine conf:

The Cubox-i is a small square-size target based on IMX.6 and comes in various versions. The small size & strong package makes it ideal for demo, learning.

Mine is the i4Pro version which needs the imx6q-cubox-i-som-v15.dtb (or imx6q-cubox-i-emmc-som-v15.dtb ).

Those are actually compiled by the kernel but are not included in the final image.

Please just add these files in KERNEL_DEVICETREE of conf/machine/cubox-i.conf :

FYI Solidrun ships a Cubox-M version with an IMX8M which could be a useful addition to the 3rdparty repo.

Some of the other 3rd party boards have compiler-gcc7.h and compiler-gcc6.h files.
The variciste recipes have compiler-gcc6.h but are missing compiler-gcc7.h.
This results in not being able to compile uboot and kernel for variscite boards using poky sumo branch

I'm using fw_printenv (from u-boot-fw-utils) to read the environment.

fw_env.config:

When I write any variable to the env using fw_setenv, I can't read it anymore.

It occurs because in:

The MC_FOLDER variable is equal to "LX2160A-CEX7", which points to a non-existent directory.
So nothing is copied.

Consequently and error occrus on cp -r ${D}/boot/mc-utils/* ${DEPLOYDIR}/mc-utils/ as it's source directory is empty:

It doesn't look like wifi is working on the Cubox-i2eX since the update to the 3.14.14 kernel.

recipes-kernel/linux/linux-cubox-i-3.14.14/defconfig contains:

Here are some things I've tried:

I think it might have something to do with this:
