As a user, I would like command line options, like -f to be accepted anywhere on the command line, rather than only at the end.

Most other command-line utilities accept options anywhere, and options often come before required arguments in commands. This utility shouldn't require users to learn a new convention.

As a user, I would like to be able to pass relative repository paths. Currently, passing relative repository paths usually causes a File not found error.

The following code fails for a dest path relative to the current directory at the beginning of execution:

  Dir.chdir(source)
  source_tags = get_tags

  # get the tags from the destination
  Dir.chdir(dest)
  dest_tags = get_tags
