Momentum Mod is a free, standalone game built on the Source Engine centralizing the major movement gametypes found in games like Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Team Fortress, and Titanfall.

Momentum Mod was granted engine access from Valve! You can read what all this means on the blog post about it, but this ultimately means that unfortunately, the game development from this point on has to be closed-source. This means that there will be no further updates to this repository's code, as potentially leaking any Valve code has significantly negative outcomes for this project, and we are not going to take that risk.

We are instead leaving the code on this repository completely public as a monument for how far we got while completely open source and with whose help. For those that have contributed, big or small, regardless of intent, the team and community thanks you greatly. Your work will not go uncredited!

While the game's development continues on a closed source repository, we will still be using this repository as a public issue tracker for the game! So if you find anything wrong, or have any suggestions, feel free to open an issue about it! Issues get assigned to release project boards which you may view at our organization's Projects boards page.

If you wish to try out the game, we have an 0.8.7 public build over at our Releases page. Note that this build is significantly scuffed compared to the one going to be found on Steam, but exists regardless for those looking to at least try out the game a little, and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. You may also build this version yourself, if you so wish, by following the steps outlined here for your relevant platform (please note that MacOS is not supported).
