org.kde.ark's Issues

Integration with non-flatpak dolphin

This isn't ark specific issue but generic one: how to integrate flatpak with dolphin (non-flatpak) in order to use it as service from there, i.e. unpacking archives from context menu? Lack of this functionality makes flatpak apps inferior to ones from distro so I hope there is a way to achieve this.

"org.kde.ark" does close during compression of files.

During compression of some files for the purpose of creation of an XZ-compressed tar archive, org.kde.ark does crash after approximately 30 percent completion. The archive is not created within the specified directory afterward.
When org.kde.ark is invoked via any commandline, the output during its failure is: Couldn't start kuiserver from org.kde.kuiserver.service: QDBusError("org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown", "The name org.kde.kuiserver was not provided by any .service files").

zst compression not working

zstandard compression not working.

How to reproduce:

Try to made zst archive.

Actual result:

Error.

Other formats works fine.

Ark Can Not Open or Extract CAB Archives

When trying to view or extract .CAB archives, Ark gives the following error: "Archive corrupted or insufficient permissions."

For context, the libarchive plugin is enabled and the .ISO files which should be handled by the same plugin can be viewed and extracted without any issues.

EDIT: The specific .cab file have an InstallShield header in other words program like unshield can extract it. If the error above is expected for such files, then this issue can be ignored.

OS: Debian 12 Bookworm
FLatpak 1.14.4
Ark 24.02.2
