sassaparilla's Issues

Responsive Text-Reflow Glitch on Sassaparilla's Main Page

Hi, I don't know if this relates directly to Sassaparilla's internal code, but I thought I'd post it here in case it does.

Sassaparilla's main page has a text reflow bug in the final paragraph, under "Setup is simple too": When resizing the window, slowly scaling up or down, the final word gets cut off (see screenshot).

This is confirmed in both Chrome 29.0.1547.76 and Safari 6.0.5 (8536.30.1) on OS X 10.8.4. No other browsers tested.

Typography configuration

I suggest using variables in order to set font sizes. For example:

$extra-small-text: 12px
$small-text: 14px
$normal-text: 16px
$large-text: 18px
$normal-heading: 24px
$large-heading: 36px
$extra-large-heading: 48px

Publishing demo.scss?

I was wondering if you'd be willing to add a non compiled version of demo.scss to the demo folder? I'm still working out the ways you're suggesting to work with breakpoints and the responding to view-ports function, I think a scss version of the demo page could be a great companion to the readme?

Many thanks, once again.

Any update planned?

I just discovered the boilerplate version for Sass users and thought that it was a genius idea. The libs you include are kinda old though and I'm not sure how up to date the whole code is. Is there an update to the latest and greatest libs/tools planned anytime soon?

sass-globbing include

Hardly and issue, a suggestion to add a line to the install manual on the readme
โ€” for ubuntu users (and or for server side compilation) the newest version of Sassaparilla needs sass-globbing for Compass to compile.

$ gem install sass-globbing

Cheers.

Line-height settings

Firstly, I really like the look of this guys! Nice work! But I find the line-height setting very, very odd.

https://github.com/fffunction/sassaparilla/blob/master/README.md#set-up-your-base-line-height

I don' t think I've ever used a line height of 6pt/px for a 16pt/px font size in either print or web design? Most would use something like 1.4 - 1.6 * the base font size (for a paragraph setting).

Sorry, i know this is not really a issue, but I would like to know more about the choice?

typography/vertical rhythm not included

Hi,

Just trying to compile and have the following error:

/* Syntax error: File to import not found or unreadable: compass/typography/vertical_rhythm.
Load path: /Users/username/sites/sassaparilla/assets/css
on line 22 of screen.scss

Am I doing something wrong or is the typography folder not included in the download?

Johnny.

HTML mark up bug

Not a major issue but in the index.html file you have a mixing up of h tags with the version number
