cronhub-monitor's Introduction

Open Source

I've written a wide range of software for various reasons - to suit my needs, experiment with new functionality, or just mess around for fun.

Much of it is buggy, inefficient, out of date, or otherwise incomplete - but I like to open source it regardless so anyone can see what I'm working on. Generally, it's a lot more interesting to interact with other people and collaborate on improving my work.

If you need help with the contributing process in any of my projects, have any questions or confusion, or want to get feedback before a contribution, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

cronhub-monitor's Issues

Better Authentication Method

Planning to build something more user-friendly than manually copy-pasting the api key from their webpage. If I open a WebView for the user to sign in through, I could navigate to https://cronhub.io/settings/api and use some extremely hacky javascript injection (the selector of the element containing the key is input.apikey-input), which might seem a little cleaner to the user - though it would be extremely hacky on my part and would likely break if any visual changes are made to that page.

Background Restrictions

This could prevent a potential issue causing missed notifications that someone pointed out. It will be optional, but strongly advised. I am not sure how to test whether the app works in Doze (I have one physical device on Nougat I could test on, but changes were made to Doze in O & P so any results from it are probably moot), and the documentation seems a little vague in this area so I am not sure if this is actually necessary or not.

WearOS Support

Just want to figure out how to get the notifications to work for now.

Widget

A home screen widget that includes the last ping & next expected ping and stuff would be a good addition.
