evt-builder's Issues

Handle the authorial interventions in a similar way to the original

When encoding <del rend="overstrike"> and <add place="supralinear">, the addition is showed near the deletion anyway; trying to create a diplomatic edition, it could be useful to show the addition where it is in the text, above the deleted text and not alongside; see this image f.i.:

rendering <del> with strikethrough

Hello EVT,

I'm having trouble rendering <del> as a strikethrough. Here is some sample encoding:

<div type="stanza">
                <l n="13">Were all unprized uncourted then</l>
                <l n="14">And all the joy one spirit showed</l>
                <l n="15">The other <del>warmly</del><add>deeply</add> felt again</l>
                <l n="16">And friendship like a river flowed</l>
                <l n="17">Constant and strong its silent course</l>
                <l n="18">For naught withstood its gentle force</l>
            </div>

I've added some different code to the custom-style.css file to try to get this to render, but nothing has worked so far, e.g.

.del {
  text-decoration: line-through;
}
.DEL {
  text-decoration: line-through;
}
span.del {
  text-decoration: line-through;
}

I would be grateful for any advice!

Justin.

<l> + <lb/> combo not working within <lg>

Using <l>+<lb/> works perfectly with single verses. But when you put them inside a <lg> there is an extra paragraph at the beginning of each verse. Here is an extract of encoding:

<body>
   <lg type="stanza" n="1">

Manage colors based on the extent of the interventions

The colors used to represent <add> and <del> could be too deep when used to highlight small scale phenomena, such as the deletion of a dot or the addition of a comma, it would be better to use a lighter shade of the same colors.

Browser asking for hi-res version of image

In the latest build (20191207) when using single images with no hi-res counterpart (the *_big.jpg version) both Chrome and Firefox ESR 60 pop up a modal warning saying "There was a problem while loading the hi-res image." which has to be closed to continue viewing the edition. This happens even if the lens, the only functionality requiring a hi-res version of the shown image, is disabled.

Display a "graphic indent" coded as rend = "indent"

In some verse forms, regular groupings of lines are often indicated by indentation. TEI allows the encoder show that by using, for example, <l rend="indent">, also specifying its size by adding the number of pixels to be used to indent them [<l rend="indent(-5)">].

Handling of <titlePage>

At the moment (build 20191206) <titlePage> works but it presents two issues:

  1. it is shown in the text frame with little to no formatting:

immagine

Desired formatting:

  • keep the text centering
  • handling of <titlePart type="main"> and <titlePart type="sub"> identical to <head type="main"> and <head type="sub">
  • converting <ref>s targeting URLs in proper hyperlinks
  • adding a new line after each sub-element (at the moment only <docAuthor> seems to have this)
  • possibly a smaller character for the <docImprint> element
  1. in the Info window content of <titlePart> is formatted in bold-italic, but it is duplicated.

immagine

Adding a full <titlePage> (instead of a simple one only holding a <titlePart>) issues similar to 1. are present, except for the conversion of <ref>s to proper hyperlinks:

Notes with previous layout

Is it possible to render notes with the dots instead, as in the Pelavicino Codex? Because they were done collaboratively by the students, they are all out of numerical order, and all the more so when students reused the same note for common things (e.g. omissions). The dot seems a big more elegant, at least for our texts.

Problems with localization files

Miscellaneous problems with localization files:

  • with EN as default language, at first loading all languages have Italian couple "Versi/Prosa" for the button instead of appropriate translations; changing to another language, pushing the button to set "Prosa" and going back to EN fixes this;

  • tooltip for "Verses/Prose" is "versi/prosa" for all languages, actually it is not in the localization files;

  • tooltip for DE "Listen" is "Listen öffnen" instead of "Listen öffnen"; same for "Suchen" and all buttons where there is an opening ("öffnen") action;

  • in general, all special characters in German are not rendered within the tooltips, only the entities are shown, see f.i. the "Vergrössern" button; the same doesn't happen for the Czech localization.

Insert a division line

Create a division line (as the one showed in the attachment) in order to represent 'diplomatically' the separation between two different parts of the same text (e.g.: changes in the theme, notes). See this image f.i.:
immagine

2 columns layout

I need to display the text into two columns. I've encoded my document in this way, but it doesn't work. Where am I going wrong?

<pb n="53r" facs="data/images/single/BH156_53r.jpg"/>
     <head> bla bla bla</head>
          <p
<cb n="1" rend="2col_layout" xml:id="LIIIr_cb_1"/>
<lb/> bla bla
<lb/> bla bla
<lb/> bla bla
<cb n="2" rend="2col_layout" xml:id="LIIIr_cb_2"/>
<lb/> bla bla
<lb/> bla bla
<lb/> bla bla </p>

Wrong layout critical note

Critical note is note rendered as expected:

<note n="14" type="Critical" xml:id="LC_note_1">om. Dd</note>

immagine (1)

Maybe is because in the the encoded text there are multiple <ptr/>s pointing to the same critical note.
