Dates prior to 1900
Trying to view a NetCDF with time extending back to 1850, I get the following error:

ValueError: year=1850 is before 1900; the datetime strftime() methods require year >= 1900
It is possible to get around this limitation. I could try if you'd like.
Broken links
On https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/netcdfbrowser/ as well as the entry in the QGIS pluginmanager, the link to the plugin homepage and bug tracker are broken. The latter might be redirected to github (here)
Add support for netCDF vector format
According to http://www.gdal.org/frmt_netcdf_vector.html, GDAL 2.1 and later now supports netCDF vector data.
It would be nice if the plugin (or QGIS core) would support that too.
Compatibility with QGIS >= 3.0
Hi @etiennesky,
I have installed QGIS on Windows 10 (64-bit) and have found that I can't install the NetCDF browser plugin. The error message is:
This plugin is incompatible with this version of QGIS
Plugin designed for QGIS 2.0 - 2.99
