Checking the Edges for V1 Complete Requirements

Let's use this issue to collect the functional and non-functional technical and standards requirements from our session(s) in May in preparation for the V1 push. (V1 of both the core, supporting reference implementations, and standards docs.)

The goal is to time-box the collection and triage of potential work items that we might have overlooked had we not set up time for lateral thinking about requirements and cases. We will conduct these sessions during the weekly office hours on Wednesdays (and we may do a session that is not livestreamed if anyone wishes to discuss things that aren't sent to a public forum the way our office hours are). Enablement Materials for 2021

In the January 4, 2021 steering committee, we discussed prioritizing the development of enablement materials, so that solutions companies and product organizations could successfully and rapidly prospect, engage, close and deliver baselined projects.

This includes materials such as:

  • "Hello World" library for baselining

  • A clear, crisp value proposition (e.g., "What are mistakes caused by inconsistent records and broken multiparty workflows costing you?")

  • Deck for baseline project sellers

  • Use cases and implementation cook-books for specific industries

  • Website improvements that feature enablement content

  • Outreach plan (maybe we set up some kind of joint CRM for outreach?)

  • Push for tools, docs and core improvements required to make adopting baseline easy

  • Content on how to get past the "POC trap" with baseline

  • A refocusing from the notion of supply chain "Transparency" to the notion of workflow "Integrity". Companies don't need to see into everyone else's data and relationships in order to get what they really need: peace of mind -- assurance against being surprised and ability to rapidly respond to failures.

  • Content and outreach plan to capture and amplify the wave currently underway where firms are focusing not only on internal data hygiene but also multiparty workflow integrity.
