dotfiles's Issues

Clear up some confusion about split orientation

Lines 66 to 71 I believe

# I CHANGED THESE TWO BELOW because they seem to be backwards by default...??
# split in horizontal orientation
bindsym $mod+semicolon split v

# split in vertical orientation
bindsym $mod+v split h

I've always thought of the way they're described as so:

Splitting vertically to me meant a seam on the y axis.
_______
| |
|----------| (y axis)
|______|

Splitting horizontally I took to mean there will be a seam on the x axis
 ________
| | |
| | |
|____|____|
   (x-axis)

I'm sure at this point in time the issue is moot, but just in case you were still confused about how i3 could ship like that... Here you go.

~Cheers!
