Hello Eric,

Encountered this issue copying from source SD-DDP2 center directory image to destination physical DDP1 with center directory tape.

Use any EOS or CP/M SD-DDP image and a blank center directory tape. Boot File Manager v3 (from ADE D1), TURN OFF expansion RAM in File Manager menu. Select MEDIA FUNCTION, COPY BLOCKS. Source TAPE B, SD-DDP2, start at 0, 256 blocks. Dest physical TAPE A, DDP1, start block 0.

Reading source into buffer OK up to 33 blocks. First attempt writing to physical DDP1 then loses it's mind slowly seeking endlessly. Works perfectly when both DDP are physical drives.

Tested repeatedly and confirmed findings with another person. SD DDP seems to be holding down the ability for the physical DDP to FF or RR.

Using SmartBasic + Basic Toolkit program. Sometimes the drive will have to read all the blocks being loaded over again. In some places a Stop message is displayed several times in a row.

Booting the SD DDP without an SD card will lock on the boot splash screen. It would be nice to have an error message appear on the display when an SD card is not inserted and would possibly help troubleshoot a bad SD card or connection/hardware issues for users.

SD DDP prevents a real physical DDP drive connected in second port to function. Real DDP drive is recognized but when used it will start to spin forward at slow speed and until the end of tape is reached, followed by high speed rewind and repeats this over and over. The console needs to be powered down in order to get the drive to ever stop.

Troubleshooting done to determine this. Two physical DDP drives tested in second port would not function. It was found that removing the SD DDP will allow both physical DDP drives to function perfectly.
