The reason we depend on 0.6.3 is because according to this post, versions above 1.0 officially only support OS X and minimum Ruby 1.9.2.

Since we rely on ffi for all our Windows support, someone needs to confirm that the latest ffi release is working on Windows and both 1.8.7 and 1.9.2, as I don't want to cut those users off. There are some good signs that it does work though - I (or someone else) just need to take the time to try it out.

Hi,

Specs seem to pass fine on Windows with 1.0.6. I still want to do some heavier testing, but I've pushed a 1.0.8.pre gem which should solve your problem with ARM..
