Can you explain the use case?

Since this isn't something that can be done cross-platform, it's probably not going to be exposed in childprocess' API.

However the upcoming 0.4.1 release (try gem install childprocess --pre) does have a change where we do change to process group so that the entire process tree is killed when the process dies. If that's your use case, it'll be solved in the next release.

Killing the entire process tree is exactly my use case -- thank you!

I had to revert the change that made a new process group the default behaviour. With the upcoming 0.5.0 release, you'll have to do this:

proc = ChildProcess.build(...)
proc.leader = true
proc.start

from childprocess.
