A port of the PS1 emulator, PCSX, to the Nintendo GC/Wii
In the games which require emulator hacks in PCSX-ReARMed to be able to work (from database.c), these hacks aren't being applied in WiiSX by any reason.
Affected games by this:
Any fix? Thanks for the huge progress in this emulator :D
GameCube USA Dol-001, picoboot, swiss, fat32 sd card slot2 adapter.
Latest CubeSX-4.1
Gran Turismo 2 USA SCUS-94455 just doesn't see memory cards. When you start the game, memory cards are created, and they are on the SD card, in the saves folder. But the game doesn't see them.
Gran Turismo EUR SCES-00984 - sees memory cards and allows you to write. But after the first recording, when reloading the game, when loading data from the memory card, the emulator crashes into Swiss.
The SD card is not fragmented. There are no problems with other applications.
All emulator settings are by default, except for the enabled analog control (bios hle, etc.).
Like the title says if i use a CHD file for Rayman 2 - The Great Escape (USA) it crashes in a DSI exception after escaping from pirate boat in first level, on both WiiSX and WiiStation.
If using normal BIN/CUE, it works as intended.
Using latest WiiSX build with P.E.Op.S. Soft GPU.
Not sure what's happening here, any fix for this?
PS: On PC when i use CHD of the same game in PCSX-ReARMed it seems fine.
Good morning!
I would like to know if it is possible to add the support sd2sp2 for the gamecube on cubesx?
Thank you
Like it says in the title. Launching via Swiss latest 0.6r1548 with CubeSD.dol in the root of the SD.
Error opening directory "sd:/wiisx/isos"
BIOS not found on SD
Error saving settings.cfg to SD
As far as I can tell, I've followed the instructions in the documentation.
First of all, I have just tested the latest version with the commit that closed the issue I posted last time...and the issue was indeed fixed; settings are finally saving, and memcard save/load works properly!!
That was a huge relief to finally see fixed, but unfortunately one thing I still noticed is that saving control profiles to USB doesn't seem to be fixed. Specifically, I think the save/load control slot options work on a single session, but when I changed the D-Pad to be used with the Analog Stick (setting them to A-Up/Down/Left/Right for games that only use the D-Pad), saved to Slot 1, pressed "Save Control Settings to USB", and then closed and reopened WiiSX, the Load Slot 1 option didn't find the profile I thought that got saved. Once again I don't know if this only happens with USB drives, but this might be the only oversight of that kind left, as every other setting actually now saved and loaded fine between resets since that commit (like the load saves and BIOS, the frameskip settings, aspect ratio, etc).
On WiiSX Beta 4.0 several menu options no longer save to settings.cfg
The following options are no longer saved:
Video/ Dithering
Input/ Auto Load Slot
Audio/ Disable XA
Audio/ Disable CDDA
Audio/ Disable Reverb
Audio/ Volume
When I change the Volume it works and saves it in the settings.cfg file but when I restart WiiSX the volume is low even though the menu says loudest
There's two things that are unfortunately hindering WiiSX from being absolutely the best with the most recent performance upgrades it has received...
The first one is that saving menu options doesn't seem to work for me. I'm unsure if whether that's something that tends to happen with USB since I only have that available (my SD card slot has issues) but even when I configure everything and hit save settings to USB repeated times, things are still unconfigured again whenever I launch the emulator again. This includes the controls as well, which I'd have to reconfigure to play with the D-Pad on the Analog Stick every time as the profile save/load doesn't seem to carry over either after a reset.
Those issues seemed to also be there with WiiSX 3.0, which is kind of annoying, but something I verified that DIDN'T happen with WiiSX 3.0 and yet does with 4.0 seems to be issues with saving memcard and savestates to USB.
Castlevania SOTN soft-locked in the save coffin silhouette spinning forever instead of eventually turning solid and closing in (which then would give the "Saved game" prompt, and before that, selecting the "save/load memcard" and "save/load state" options failed to work at all. I made sure to try this with WiiSX 3.0 and in that version both memcard and savestate saving to USB work. And yes, in 4.0 I also had set saving those to USB to no avail.
I wonder if this issue can be recreated and fixed since that's honestly the two huge glaring issues behind this being perfect (the saving issue with games in particualr is what also stops 4.0 from being the version I would stick with for single-player games that require saving).
If this can be looked at sometime soon, then it would be great, since that aside, the latest updates to WiiSX have been an absolute miracle and it has been incredible to see games like SOTN and Ridge Racer Type 4 run at 60fps on the Wii.
Settings for gun mode in control settings not allowing customization of ir functionality. Games do not detect wiimote ir on screen. Suggest modification of settings for this mode.
In some games, when I move the control stick diagonally, the characters sneak and don't run.
Here are some games where I noticed it:
007 - Tomorrow never dies
Soul of the Samurai
Bugs Bunny & Taz - Time Busters
Glover (When you move without a ball)
I downloaded padtest and when I move the stick diagonally I don't have 127.
I only have 127 when I move the stick to the left, right, top, below.
On “Retroarch” on my smartphone with “PCSX_Rearmed” I have 127 in all directions.

I tested it with 3 original Nintendo Gamecube controllers on the Wii with WiiSX.
Thanks for the further development of this great emulator, the Audio Volume and Video settings are now saved on SD/USB.
But there is a new problem: When I select "Analog" under PSX Controller Type, the Analog Stick and C Stick on the Gamecube Controller don't work.
WiiSX Beta 4 and older versions have no issues with the "Analog" setting when setting the PSX Controller Type.
I use an original Nintendo GameCube Controller.
Since Beta 4, the controller has a left drift when using the PSX Controller Type setting to Analog.
The best game where you can see it is S.C.A.R.S. When you start a race, the car steers slightly to the left.
If you set the controls from "Analog" to "Standard" so that the analog stick doesn't work, the car will drive straight.
In Beta 3 it runs perfectly and without drift when you set the controls to “Analog”.
I use an original GameCube controller.
EDIT: It seems that this doesn't affect all games.
I played Need for Speed 2, Crash Bandicoot 2, Croc and some other games, I didn't notice any drift there.
Ps3 has:
Please, the official ps1 emu is bad, it has no high definition rendering, no higher hz/fps, no z buffer / geometry fix, no fpu, no texture swapping, no savestates..
U could use psl1ght sdk or offical leaked ps3 sdk.
U could use ps3sx as a base for the project (an old ps1 emu without dynarec and with some problems, but it would be good faster to not start from scratch)
Thank you
imo, the biggest disadvantage that remains with wiisx and its forks is the ugly bilinear smear filter that is forcibly applied to everything. adding an option to disable it, along with appropriate scaling options akin to something like SNESRX, would be a huge improvement.
Hey there @emukidid, i saw in this repo that you're working on porting Pete's OpenGL gtraphics plugin to GX for render the games using Wii's GX hardware.
Are you still working in this?
Would you try to add this plugin to WiiSXRX (http://github.com/niuus/WiiSXRX)?
Thanks ;)
Good morning!
I would like to know if it is possible to add the support sd2sp2 for the gamecube on cubesx?
Thank you
Since WiiSX Beta 4, the emulator sometimes crashes when you are playing a game and want to return to the emulator menu.
No code dump error is displayed, the gameplay freezes and you have to hard reset the Wii.
I tested it with 28 games (PAL) and it can happen with any game.
If it doesn't crash the first time, you can trigger it by going to "Resume Game" in the emulator menu then when you're back in the game go back to the emulator menu and do this process several times until it freezes.
WiiSX Beta 3 and 2.1 do not have this problem, other emulators such as WiiSXRX and Wii64 also have no problems when you return to the emulator menu.
I tested it on 2 different Pal Wii consoles with component (480p) cable, 3 different SD cards and GameCube controller.
Every time i try to load up a .bin game it just starts like a normal ps1 console but then goes immediately to the memory card/cd player screen? Not sure as to why it wont even bother trying to load any game. It just does that with every game i try" Again I'm just picking any ps1 .bin that used to load up with your april updated version of the old wii sx but with the new .dol of 4.1 and it wont actually load the file enough to even start any game. I have the correct bios and everything. So i have a setting set wrong or something? Any help would be great!
Like the title says, on WiiSX the disc swap function doesn't work.
Tested these games but none of these can swap adequately the disc on WiiSX:
Any fix for the disc swap in WiiSX? Thanks ;)
