Portfolio User Case

Portfolio User Case

User Story

AS AN employer
I WANT to view a potential employee's deployed portfolio of work samples
SO THAT I can review samples of their work and assess whether they're a good candidate for an open position.

Acceptance Criteria

GIVEN I need to sample a potential employee's previous work
WHEN I load their portfolio
THEN I am presented with the developer's name, a recent photo or avatar, and links to sections about them, their work, and how to contact them
WHEN I click on one of the links in the navigation
THEN the UI scrolls to the corresponding section
WHEN I click on the link to the section about their work
THEN the UI scrolls to a section with titled images of the developer's applications
WHEN I am presented with the developer's first application
THEN that application's image should be larger in size than the others
WHEN I click on the images of the applications
THEN I am taken to that deployed application
WHEN I resize the page or view the site on various screens and devices
THEN I am presented with a responsive layout that adapts to my viewport

Complete "Work" Section

  • Add five images to this section.
  • Add titles to each image of previous work I've done.
  • Link images so that when you click on one of them, it opens the deployed application.

What I Did Correctly

  • Application is responsive to different screen sizes.
  • Submit GitHub URL.
  • Create a unique name for my repository that is relevant to the application.
  • Make use of best practices for file structure and naming conventions.
  • Make multiple commits to my repository with descriptive commit messages that explain the changes made to my application.

What I Need To Fix

  • Deploy application to a live URL.
  • Set up navigation links to function as intended.
  • Complete "work" section to include titled images of previous work I've done.
  • Set up "work" images to include links to their deployed applications.
  • Add comments to my CSS file to explain what it does.
  • Update README to include screenshots and links to the repository and to the deployed application.

Comment On My Code

Add comments to my code that explain what the line of code does. This is important, as it shows graders that I understand my code. It also allows for easier reading of the code if ever I need to organize the structure or make changes to it.
