make file is wrong

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. make
2. make install

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
make should compile only 32bit or 64bit or windows

instead it try to compile all together, the problem exist when compile on a
32bit machine, it is not able to compile a 64bit plugin

if i use an rpm based distro i don't want and i cannot build a deb file and
so on..

------------------------------------------------

i created a patch that split linx-32, linux-64, linux,arm, windows and deb
building..

fix some missing include folders.. it is not able to search in lib64 folder
so i added it

i added make install and make uninstall

translations built and added bye default

some parts are commented because may be improved

Skype Beta and silent

It seems that with the next version of Skype, this plugin fails to keep
Skype silent.

Whenever I talk with a friend on Skype, the Skype chat window opens as well.

SVN crashes pidgin

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. SVN (revision 472) downloaded, and compiled on 32bit Ubuntu, Installed Skype
2. Activated Skype account, and added Skype Account Info Within Pidgin
3. Upon Pidgin Restart - Pidgin Continually Crashed

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Upon starting pidgin, get notification from skype to allow pidgin to access
features, after this pidgin connection icon appears in tray, but then crashes.

What version of the plugin are you using? On what operating system?
Pidgin 2.5.3 compiled and installed. Ubuntu 8.10 Did not compile pidgin
with the --enable-mono switch. Could not get to compile with this switch
(although I could with the 2.5.2 version)

I needed to modify Makefile of Plugin to install with /usr/local tree since
that is where pidgin compiled sources are located. Can a configure file be
generated to generate the Make file to prevent all of this?

Please provide any additional information below.

Missing "End call" button

After I initiate the call, I always need to open the Skype window and end
the call there, or ask the other chatter to end the call..

Is there no Skype4COM function to end a certain call so this cannot be
implemented, or this feature already there and I'm just blind?

If it's not there, changing the "Call.." buddy context-menu option into
"End Call" would be great

pidgin doesn't start if skype isn't already running

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. keep skype close
2. run pidgin

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The program 'pidgin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 11 error_code 5 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Group Chat problems

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Join a group chat.
2. When someone sends a message to the chat, Pidgin receives it as a
personal IM rather than a group chat message.

Instead, it opens an IM window with the person who sent the message.

Pidgin leaves answer window open when answering call in Skype

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have someone call you
2. Accept call in Pidgin

Pidgin leaves open the "Do you want to accept this call" window, when it
shouldn't.

Either add a "Cancel" or "Ignore" button or close this window if the call
is already made.

Silent file transfers

As far as I can tell, the plugin doesn't support file transfers.

So, when I want to send a file to the other chatter, I open my Skype.. and
send a file to them through that window.

What happens next is that my Pidgin File Transfer window opens and shows me
the status of the file transfer.

Wouldn't it be more common-sense not to show the File Transfer window at
all, since I'm dealing with that in the original Skype window anyway?!

State notification

When I initiate a call from the buddy list, the chat-window also opens for
that buddy.

Don't know if it should be a default, or an option to tick.. but showing
"[User] is now having a voice-chat with you", and subsequently "[User]
ended a voice-chat with you], just like the <Buddy State Notification> does
for regular idle/away/connected states, would be great in terms of awareness.

Pidgin crashes when signing in to Skype

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Not sure, I had a meta-contact of myself with my IDs from all the
protocols. I tried to move it to a contact group with a blank name (maybe
just a space).
2. Then pidgin crashed. Even after deleting the group and the contacts, it
keeps crashing whenever signing on to skype.
3. Reinstalling pidgin doesn't solve this.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

To log on normally, but instead it crashes.

What version of the plugin are you using? On what operating system?

Latest version, vista home premium

Activated plugins causes high rate of CPU wake ups (esp. serious when on battery power

When the plugin is activated (no matter if skype running or not running) it
wakes up the CPU from sleep state C3 to C0 (thus consuming a lot more
power) which has got a remarkable impact on the battery state. The number
increases from 50-150 wakeups per second up to 1000 when the plugin is running.

Failed assertion in 2008-07-09

I'm using:

- skype4pidgin 2008-07-09

- pidgin 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2.1

- skype 1.4.0.118

- Ubuntu 8.04

After leaving pidgin and skype running for some time, pidgin will
spontaneously give me this error, seemingly out of the blue (skype
continues to run fine). Specifically I get the following failed assertion
(also including full backtrace). Please let me know if any further info
would be useful, thanks!

Reduce console output on OS X/Adium version

Right now Adium plugin spams my console log with about a hundred messages every
10 seconds,
making it pretty much unusable for everything else, and I haven't been able to
find the source code
of adium plugin to remove NSLog calls myself.

This sort of behavior should be left in debug builds only, release builds
should seldom, if ever, log
stuff to console.

Skype contacts counted as offline though they are not

Even if people are online in Skype and show up in the Pidgin buggy list as
online they still are counted as offline (eg. the Skype group displays 0/x
as online when it's minimized) and currently online Skype contacts
disappear, too, when you hide offline contacts in the menu.

I'm using pidgin 2.5.2 on Vista Business.

SkypeOut contacts should look different

Erwin Feldhaus: would be great if skypeout contacts could have a different
icon to denote what they are. Have you thought about that?
Erwin Feldhaus: I have, more than once, double clicked on the icon and
started to write an IM ...for a land line!

Maybe set a different protocol icon for SkypeOut contacts, or remove the
IM/Chat menu options

Messages recieved don't appear in pidgin (linux)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Using with Pidgin 2.2.1 on Ubuntu 7.10 with the latest (Dec 9th) plugin
version (not from source) allows calls to be started, chats to be started,
messages to be sent but *not received*. Messages are shown in the skype
chat windows but dont' make it to the conversation window.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Messages to be recieved in Pidgin, messages could only be sent.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using with Pidgin 2.2.1 on Ubuntu 7.10 with the latest (Dec 9th) plug in
version (not from source)

Please provide any additional information below.

Everything else works a charm! Very much like the integration! Good stuff!

"0 people in room" with latest plugin

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load Pidgin with the Skype plugin
2. Start a multi-user chat from Skype (window opens in Pidgin, all
participants are listed)
3. Add a multi-user chat to the buddy list
4. Open the chat from the buddy list (Pidgin says "0 people in room")

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Pidgin should list all participants regardless of how the window is opened.
The latest release lists 0 participants, whereas previous releases worked
without issues.

What version of the plugin are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.10)
Pidgin/libpurple 2.4.2
Skype4Pidgin 15/05/08 05:39:48 PM
Skype 2.0.0.63

Please provide any additional information below.
This has only been a problem with the latest release. It's possible that
the plugin needs slight upgrading for libpurple 2.4.2

Adium 1.2 Skype4pdigin works only the first time after installation

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install skype4pdigin plugin
2. restart adium
3. add the skype account and connect
4. in opened skype (2.7beta), authorize the use of skype api (always)
5. Everything works fine
6. Close both apps, reopen skype (connected), reopen adium.
7. Skype plugin does not work anymore

To reproduce the correct working of the plugin, you need to completly
disinstall and reinstall
adium (the simply reinstallation of the plugin is not enough, as it is the
removal/re-add of the
skype account in adium)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Skype4pdigin last version os x (7 jan 2008)
Leopard 10.5.1
Adium 1.2
Skype 2.7 beta
