We opted to change the 1d10 system to 2d6 instead. Any bonuses, damage etc., but melee damage, will be flat. The latter will receive bonuses depending on the character (f.e. melee damage might reserve a bonus equal to the strength modifier).

A while ago @johannes-z and I agreed to change all weapon damages to flat values. To reduce the number of rolls that have to be made throughout the game. One primary goal should still remain: if a vital zone is hit the target should go down.

Proposal

Effort should be usable in these situations: skills, speed, determining to stay conscious.

Instead of allowing any amount of effort to be taken, it could be reduced to the amount of ranks in a certain skill. For speed, you can't add more effort than a character has speed. Also, you can't add more effort than a character has constitution ranks for determining if he stays conscious.
