Can these be flipped?

My Cherry MX switches (purchased from Sparkfun) are the reverse of these footprints, with the higher terminal on the left and the lower terminal on the right, when looking at the bottom of the switch. Am I doing something wrong? Can they just be flipped?

How about 3D models?

Pin 1 on hybrid footprints is incorrect

Based on the measurements from the Alps and MX datasheets, the size, location, and angle of the hybrid footprint for pin 1 incorrect. The position should be (-3.155, -3.27), the size should be (2.5, 4.4615), and the angle should be 1381 * 0.1 deg.

Please contribute these to the KiCad library

Having the MX/Alps switches present in the KiCad standard library would make project setup easier and make it so that there is one single source of truth for the footprint across the community. Plain MX switches and Matias switches have already been contributed.

You can open a pull request for the Button_Switch_Keyboard library at the official repository here: https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-footprints.

I would also be happy to do this if necessary.

Are the elongated holes necessary?

I've never seen a commercial keyboard PCB with the elongated holes for the switch pins like this library uses, I was wondering if they were necessary for modern Cherry/cherry clones? If not, what function do they serve?

Also, would it be possible to make a version of the footprints with just the plain round holes? If it's possible I'd be willing to create a PR for it.
