When the player moves in a direction, a walking animation would play.

When the player presses the Z key while moving, they would start to run.

Make it possible to access the bag and use an item.

When you have too many pokémon, it gets hard to keep track of them, that's where the pokémon PC utility comes in. It's a pratical interface that let's you easily manage all of your catched pokémon and it's usually located in the pokémon center (the computer in the upper right cornet in the previous image).

Some pokémon are harder to catch than others, even with the same HP and at the same level, such as the fame legendary pokémon (rare pokémon that are much powerful than regular pokémon, an example is the number 150 pokémon, Mewtwo).

This is due to different pokémon having different catch rate which vary between 0 and 255.

The higher the catch rate of a pokémon, the easier it is to catch it.

It's not an easy task to catch all 151 pokémon in just one run, so saving the progress made to come back later would facilitate the process.

At the start of a new game, the player may chose his character gender (for cosmetic purposes only).

Some pokémon have two or even three different evolutions and if so, they evolve when they reach a certain level.
