It seems CC1101's with 24MHz crystals are still rare to find (at least within EU)? While looking around, I found this question on a TI forum https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/other-wireless-group/other-wireless/f/other-wireless-technologies-forum/149055/24-mhz-crystal-on-cc1101 which more or less clarifies the reason for the upgraded crystal being the ability to reach 280Mhz with the frequency range; is this the only reason?

I'm considering your library for a project, but I am unfortunately not an hardware expert in this field. I would need to get a handful of ready-made ones instead of fixing older variants because I don't have the instruments for de/re-soldering at this small scale mentioned in the documentation that's linked in your README. For added context: the project involves a star network with just a few clients - say 3 - sending a few bytes of data every 15 minutes pretty much one-way to the network's center which will be connected to the internet and forwarding the processed information elsewhere, so I don't need a lot of bandwidth. Is this library still usable with a 26MHz crystal CC1101?
