drupalcampnyc's Issues

404 from logo image tag

<img src="/themes/drupalnyc/logo.svg" alt="Home" />

This Drupal-generated markup results in a 404.

We should be using an SVG for our logo anyway so the easy solution is to create an SVG version of our logo and place it at the above path.

Add 'individual sponsor' concept to site

need to think through implementation of this since it will just be a name (possibly link to d.o user page but not necessarily) for those people that donate $ to the camp. Might just make this a simple page and not include it on the sponsor page view.

Sponsor Page

main thing is a sponsor page that arrays the premium sponsors (4 up grid prob) at top and general sponsors in a block beneath.

Add About (or Credits) page

Create a page with list of all dcnyc16 volunteers, subhed by role. Will be a simple page done in ckeditor, links back to the volunteers' d.o user page

Add "How to Sponsor" page

Joe will take care of. This may likely be a subnav element of "sponsors" - I will see how that looks, else promote it to main navigation

footer quite close to bottom of main content (Premium sponsor block)

Trying to think about the easiest way to resolve this since they're overlapping. The thoughts are:

  1. Just eliminate the "connect with us" block since its abutting too closely
  2. Make the "Powered by Drupal 8" smaller
  3. Make the Pantheon logo smaller

Or,

Simply drop a horizontal rule between content and footer to set a visual demarcation. This suggestion might include some of the above.

This is NOT a blocker to site launch, it is a nice-to-have that hopefully Tim can help address.

D8 bug?: menu items lose their order

strange behavior in parent navigation - the menu items lose their order. I have seen this on another D8 implementation, haven't had time to figure out what is going on. Need to work through this, I'll try manually setting the weight of the items to see if that helps resolve this.

sitewide: footer issues (see below)

  1. "powered by drupal 8" smaller font and block moves to left
  2. "Powered by pantheon" Logo made smaller and moved to center
  3. "Connect with us" block head made smaller and moved to the right
  4. whole footer placed in a separate mortise below "premium sponsor" block

sponsor logos appearing jagged vertical, need to be centered

Will open in Photoshop to put all logos in same wxh transparent area so that they space properly, will resize each brand logo (by eye) to ensure none looks bigger than any other.

Not a blocker, will work on this over the next few days (hopefully as we get more sponsors signing on)

Where to host site?

we own drupalcamp.nyc, currently pointing to Amy Cham's server, but she expresses a preference for us to deploy this site elsewhere. Thoughts on where we can put this?

sponsorship and registration call to action buttons not appearing on home page yet

Missing two call to action buttons above the content block, one for registration and one for sponsorship. Those buttons should not be the red ones that I had placed as FPO or used on the prior site. I had suggested Tim just pick ones that match the ‘gritty’ look of the grayscale site, if that wasn’t done Joe can create something

Page header markup should not be duplicated

<header role="banner" class="page--header">

and

<header class="mobile--page--header">

are present on all pages, but contain identical markup (the mobile version also contains some empty hamburger-menu tags).

The duplicate markup results in some element IDs being duplicated (e.g. "block-drupaleurope-branding").

Solution: output the header markup once and style it differently for mobile/desktop using media queries.
