dissertation's Issues

Omitting Participants

Segmentation still includes Participants 044 and 047 which should be eliminated from analysis due to background factors making them not fit any of the study populations.

By Word Analysis

The by target analysis was the more clear direction to display statistics. These were not updated with cleaner code, cohen's d analysis, etc post 11 NOV 2020. Update these later (After dissertation is written)

ANOVA Formatting

Effect names used in code do not match prose and are very long. This is also causing the table to be wider than manuscript text and extending into the margin area on right side of page.

LaTeX Citations

Paperpile export of citations not working. Paper will not compile

Update README for Dissertation

Since the change to knitr compiles uses .rnw files instead of .tex, the README file should be updated to reflect these changes.

Power Analysis

How do I correctly report results of power analysis? Used recruitment section of Sampling Chapter.

R integration

Need to review to R stats to integrate with LaTeX document

Margins

I cannot force the full alignment. When words are long or attached to an m-dash, it breaks the right side margin line.

Special Characters

Unable to format phonetic symbols correctly. square brackets [ ] are the first problem, but this is likely to be bigger than this.

Experiment Timing issue

Lexical access experiment had timing issues for participants completing the experiment in their first visit to the lab. This did not affect anyone completing the Segmentation experiment or participants who returned for a second visit to the lab to complete the Lexical Access experiment.

References

References are populating after Appendices and this order needs to be reversed.

Chapter 2

I have read the latest version of your Chapter 2 (Sampling Methods and Populations). It all looks good. What remains is very minor, like a few typos, misplaced comas, and two or three ungrammatical sentences. It’s all good. The chapter is ready for defense.

Will need to check and fix these issues after defense, but before final manuscript submission.

Force participants to answer

In pavlovia, the participants have the option to not answer. You can place an asterisks *at the end of text and it will require an answer.

Prolific

Testing issues with using Prolific for participant recruitment.

Carrier Item List Location

Original experiment was ran completely random meaning the carrier item could have been the first item in the list.

  1. How many occurrences of this took place? overall and by participant?
  2. Does this make a difference in the effect?
