NAME

       Pierre Dommerc - code writer.

SYNOPSIS

       pierre

DESCRIPTION

Hi, I am passionate about code. At the
moment, I'm mainly interested in Rust 🦀. I enjoy developing
my own tools with it since 2018. I like to keep a foot
in system programming. And yes I'm used to doing C sometimes.

I'm a big fan of Linux and the Unix philosophy (Do One
       Thing And Do It Well.
). I am convinced that people should
be the sovereign of their machine and their data. I'm
       concerned about my digital privacy.

At work I trade my time for software development in privacy
to make money. I mainly work with TypeScript, React and Rust.

OPTIONS

       -d, --dot
My dotfiles. You can find info about my
Arch Linux install and basically my desktop
environment setup (window manager config, statusbar,
              etc).

       -n, --nvim_config
My personal neovim config (written in Lua).

       -b, --baru
A system monitor designed for use in window manager
              statusbar, written in Rust.

       -m, --milcheck
CLI to display the status of your pacman mirrorlist and the
Arch Linux lastest news right in your terminal,
              written in Rust.

       -B, --bato
A small daemon to send battery notifications, using
a Finite State Machine, written in Rust.

bato's Issues

Can't see any icons!

Hi everything works great but I can't see the icons in the notification. Any ideas why?

Notification priority settings

You should be able to set the urgency/priority of the notifications by the type of notifications, this would make it so that charging notifications can dismiss quickly, for example.

Customize status file names

First, thanks for the program! I've been looking for a while for a small battery notification program like this.

However, on my system, the file names for the battery status are charge_full, charge_full_design, charge_now, and status, so I get an error when trying to use bato.

Maybe these names should be configurable (or the full path for each one — in which case you might even remove the full_design option, since the user would configure which file to use directly).

Option to not configure certain notifications

First of all I really like the program, seems like a quite simple solution to the problem.

However I only care about notifications for battery low and critical events. Though when I leave out the segments for full, charging or discharging bato just spits out a error like this

bato error: while deserializing the config file, missing field `full` at line 1 column 10

Just leaving the section empty doesn't work either

Alpine package

Unfortunately as it currently stands in alpine linux, there is no equivalent to bato at all... i've tried the executable but it doesn't seem to work for me (yes, I chmoded it)

If this was properly packaged for alpine that would be absolutely fantastic.

And bato is my favorite bato anyway.

Provide defaults

Could you provide defaults, so the user doesn't have to write a config file?

Also so the user can only adjust specific things and leave the rest default.

Power supply file not found

When running bato, I get the error

bato error: error while reading the file "/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/energy_full_design": No such file or directory (os error 2)

LICENSE file?

It would be great if you add the license directly into the repository rather than only putting it in the read me. (That way GitHub should also auto-detect it if that is relevant).
