We need finish the event categories and finish creating the issue templates for the different categories of events. We should add virtual events and identify any additional criteria here.

There's a burgeoning community and a mass of content around Microsoft IoT.

It would be amazing to leverage this, and the support in the community, to put on a fab event around all of the tools, services and applications around IoT.

It would also be a great way for the community to meet the various awesome members of the Microsoft IoT Team, both in Advocacy / DevRel and Engineering.

Likewise, the community can help the exposure for the amazing work the Microsoft IoT Team are doing to create a fantastic ecosystem, by delivering content too.

Of course, as IoT touches so many facets of Azure, there would be opportunity to bring in folks from other departments too.

There are so many game engines and tools that .Net supports, not to mention all of the other tools and services that support game development as part of the ecosystem. There's great content already being built around game development with .Net. I get so many questions from the community that wants to know how to start game development, I'd love to see an event that helps those wanting to start building games as well those seasoned game developers and everyone in-between. It also would be a great way for the community to hear more from Microsoft about how we are thinking about gaming and all of the other tools and services that are offered to support the gaming community. Microsoft has such a rich tradition of gaming with XBox and all the other studios that it owns, as well as the recent acquisition of PlayFab, I think it's a great opportunity to have an event that really showcases all there is and inspire the community to build games.

We need a way for members to request event sponsorship. We need a readme that describes how we prioritize (what we get for what we're giving) and and issue template on how to submit.
i.e.

• What are we sponsoring? Does it promote .NET open source?
• What is the level of diversity at the event? Code of conduct we agree with?
• How many attendees are there?
• What do we get for the money? i.e. logo somewhere? a booth?
• Is there an optional co-marketing opportunity (help promote each other) if we can't fund (fully)?

@isaacrlevin you volunteered at the last meeting to get something going here.

The .NET Foundation should sponsor this event because it supports .NET5, Blazor and C# 9, Cloud based development using .NET, and other latest and greatest things introduced in .NET Conference 2020.
