I'm not really good with Perl, but here is the workaround I needed to use locally on /libs/SQL.pm. The problem was that single quotes were escaped, but escape sequences were not. I had some already escaped data in commit messages :(

    if ($items[$i][5]) {
        $items[$i][5] =~ s/\\/\\\\/g;
        $items[$i][5] =~ s/'/\\'/g; # Needed to escape string in query
    }
    if ($items[$i][6]) {
        $items[$i][6] =~ s/\\/\\\\/g;
        $items[$i][6] =~ s/'/\\'/g; # Needed to escape string in query
    }

I get the following error when executing.

fatal: ../../CONNECT: '../../CONNECT' is outside repository
Parsing `git log` command failed!

Steps to reproduce:

1. Clone repo: git clone https://github.com/DoesntMatter/GitlogParser.git
2. Move to folder with script: cd GitlogParser/scripts
3. Execute script for another git log ./gitlog_to_sql.pl --repo ../../CONNECT
4. Error occurs

Expected:

Log to be created for my repo

Actual:

fatal: ../../CONNECT: '../../CONNECT' is outside repository
Parsing `git log` command failed!

Is there anyway to also include files changed into a column? That would also be a great help. even if changed files is just a list.
