infinity-for-reddit's Issues

Feature Request: Subreddit sidebars

Either via a button, similar to what if I remember correctly the mobile site has, or via swiping out from one side.

(Also, sorry for making so many issues, these are just all features I thought of and wanted to suggest before I forgot, and I feel GitHub is a better place to do so than the /r/Android thread I saw.)

Content reporting

reports can be important sometimes. having the proper subreddit and sitewide rules to report as would be good too, as well as the personalized text

Media file sizes

it would be nice to have it so the app shows the file size of every piece of media that it attempts to download and with a download progress bar together, along wih the option to cancel the (image|video|gif|other content) downloads.

what do you think? :3

Feature Request: "Hide Read" button

A lot of the time whenever I open the app I see posts that I've already seen. You should add a "Hide Read" button to the 3 dots menu in the top right corner, or add an option to hide read posts automatically.

Scrollable Widget

Could you please add a scrollable widget? I love the application but it would be even more perfect if it had one. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Lemmy support

Lemmy is an open source, federated link-aggregator (like Reddit). The API is quite similar to Reddit, so it shouldn't be too difficult to support it. For using a Lemmy account, you can do something where you can just click "Add account" and add one. @dessalines is the creator, and he can help you out with it.

Feature Request: Publish your app on F-Droid

Hello Docile-Alligator!

Thanks for your well designed Reddit-app.

I would love to see this app on f-droid. Have you thought about publishing it there?

Here is a quick start guide for publishing it there.

Bug: Logging in with 2FA doesn't work

If I try to log into an account with 2FA enabled, it just seems to refresh the page.

(You can work around this by putting [password]:[code] in for the password but it would be nice to not have to do so, especially since it doesn't tell you that you have to do this.)

Feature request: Imgur and external images view support

for image visualization, some posts often directs you to Imgur for viewing the image, but i think it would be better if these images and other direct links for images could be viewed directly from the app.

what do you think? :3

Bug: Collapse Parent bug

Collapsing a parent comment and then expanding it again will still hide all child comments of comments that replied to the parent comment.

Feature Requests

  • Alphabetical Index for Subscriptions: It is a bit of a pain to scroll through all of your subscriptions to get to the one you need - especially if you have a long list. Implementing a alphabetical index on the side of the tab would make it easier to navigate through all of your subscriptions.

  • Tap comment to fully collapse them.

  • Autoplay videos and gifs

Feature Request: Gesture Navigation

Hello,

Thank you for creating such a great open source Reddit client! This looks amazing! Lazy mode is super awesome as well!

If I may request a feature that Apollo for Reddit(on iOS) and Sync for Reddit(on Android) have, and is a pretty handy part of my Reddit workflow.

It would be very very useful to be able to customize some sort of gesture navigation. For example, I like to hide posts I have seen by swiping the individual post from the front page to hide it. Other apps allow you to customize the gesture navigation for various settings.

Here is a sampling of possible with gesture navigations on posts on the regular home page feed: Short drag from right, long drag from right, short drag from left, long drag from left(same things for up and down), double tap post, three or four finger dragging, etc.

Here is an example of things that could be possible with the aformentioned gestures: hiding posts, up/down voting, star a post, leave a comment.

There is one major implementation detail that I can think of that would make this difficult: on the home page of Infinity is that in the current implementation, you currently are already using swipe left and swipe right to go from Popular to All.

Thank you once again for making such a great and compelling open source Reddit client. These things were just feature requests/suggestions, if you don't like these idea or they conflict with your vision, feel free to close this issue.

Thanks!

Volume slider for videos

Add you a volume slider for videos, instead of it just being based on your phone's volume. That way I can watch videos with no sound while still being able to listen to music.

Add license

You should probably put an open source license in this repo.

Feature Request: Customized Top Bar

I don't really browse r/all and I would much rather have the option to put some of my subs up there so i could easily swipe to them rather than tap on the checkmark.

Add auto night mode

Would love to have an auto dark mode range from one hour to another.

Love what you're doing with the app, will be reporting bugs if I find any.

Bug: Redundant empty space on post headers

posts in the fontpages often appears to have a long empty space after the options bar specially text posts and posts with external links...
[a cropped screenshot of the app, showing the empty space]

if it helps with anything, the resolution is 480x740px, 72dpi

Feature Request: Resize Cards on home screen

Hello,

I was playing with Lazy Mode(which is so freaking awesome!), and it seems that some picture posts don't fit all the way on the screen. Would be very useful to be able to customize the cards so they can show more or less and have the card fit fully on the screen during lazy mode.

Thanks!

Feature requests

Hi I have several feature requests but I don't know if I should create separate issues for them but I think I'll put them all in one. There's no rush to implement any of these but I'm coming as a Slide user and there are some things I would like to see in Infinity eventually.

  1. Compact/List layout view: Instead of showing the full size media in the main page/subreddits, show a thumbnail instead.
  2. Option to open the app in r/popular or r/all by default instead of Best.
  3. Data saving: Load lower quality media when on mobile data.
  4. Show poster's username in the main page/subreddits: Currently posts don't show usernames until the post is opened.
  5. Option to hide post in the main page/subreddits: Currently the hide post option is only available when the post is opened.
  6. Read indicators: Differentiate between read (opened) posts vs unread ones. Most reddit clients dim the post.
  7. Option to quickly hide all read posts in the main page/subreddits.
  8. Subreddit sidebar: Currently there is no way (or maybe I'm an idiot and cannot find it) to open the subreddit sidebar, where information such as subreddit rules, subreddit moderator lists, etc. are.

Sorry if this is long and thanks for taking the time to read through it.
