This doesn't necessarily need a fix, but I stumbled upon this in my deployment: you can't use trailingSlash: true in your nextConfig as it's incompatible with the url rewriter CloudFront function that relies on static pages being as a/b.html rather than a/b/index.html.

I needed this construct in Java so I created a fork here. But I would prefer to not have to maintain a separate fork and contribute directly to your repo. Let me know if you are open to publishing to other languages. For another construct, it took me about an hour to setup all other languages with Java being the trickiest.
