academicons's Issues

\aiIdeasRepec issue....

Greetings Diogo,

\aiicon{ideas-repec} generates the correct icon, but your documentation indicates that \aiIdeasRepec ought to generate the same, but it does not. Trial and error indicates that \aiIDEASRePEc almost works but it produces \aiicon{ideas-repec-square}.

Furthermore calling aiicon{} versus Direct Command have different behaviour and Direct Command is better behaved for me... for instance

[\aiicon{ideas-repec}IDEAS/RePEc:](https://ideas.repec.org/e/pra175.html)

kills the label IDEAS/RePEc while

[\aiIDEASRePEc\ IDEAS/RePEc:](https://ideas.repec.org/e/pra175.html)

leaves it intact.

If by chance you might have time to correct the \aiIdeasRepec to point to \ai{ideas-repec} per your documentation that would be most appreciated.

Thanks again!

Wrong arXiv icon (yet)

The icons provided by the package are:

image

But yet (since late 2021), the icon of arXiv is different.

See https://info.arxiv.org/brand/logos.html (or the main page of arXiv).

The Academicons page project has already the right icon.

See : http://jpswalsh.github.io/academicons/

image

According to jpswalsh/academicons#174, arXiv changed their icon since more than 2 years, and the logo was updated on the Academicons font 8 months ago (here you see for the SVG version, as you can see individuals changes: https://github.com/jpswalsh/academicons/tree/master/svg).

clarivate

Is it me or the "clarivate" icon is not exposed by the package?

Invalid operation fp_to_decimal(inf) l.12 \newfontfamily{\AI}{academicons.ttf}

Greetings Diogo,

A file that was compiling happily stopped doing so on Sept 12 and I just noticed this (script auto generates)... the message is

! Undefined control sequence.
\LaTeX3 error:
Invalid operation fp_to_decimal(inf)
l.12 \newfontfamily{\AI}{academicons.ttf}

If you had any suggestions that would be most welcome... the log states

.................................................
. fontspec info: "no-scripts"
.
. Font "academicons" does not contain any OpenType `Script' information.
.................................................

! Undefined control sequence.
\LaTeX3 error:
Invalid operation fp_to_decimal(inf)
l.12 \newfontfamily{\AI}{academicons.ttf}

?

I recall you issuing a fix for this issue so perhaps a change in another package is the culprit?

Regardless, thanks for your efforts and contributions to the community!

Jeff

Using academicons in the ShareLatex plataform

Given that this package has special system settings for being used, have you already contacted to the ShareLaTeX support team in order to properly set this package in their system? If so, what should I do to use this package in ShareLaTeX properly?

Font "Academicons" does not contain any OpenType `Script' information

Greetings,

First, thanks for writing this excellent package.

I am using the latest version of texlive on macOS 10.13.5. It surfaces with either the mactex distribution or the macports distribution. I am able to replicate on two other computers.

I am running into an issue that I hope you might be able to resolve. The same issue exists with the package fontawesome however it is not present in the package fontawseome5 which works flawlessly so perhaps that will help diagnose.

The issue is as follows (from the log file):

Package: academicons 2018/04/16 v1.8.6 Academicons Icons
(save: /Users/jracine/.texlive2017/texmf-var/luatex-cache/generic/fonts/otl/acad
emicons.lua)(save: /Users/jracine/.texlive2017/texmf-var/luatex-cache/generic/fo
nts/otl/academicons.luc)
luaotfload | aux : font no 18 (nil) defines no feature for script latn
luaotfload | aux : no font with id 18
.................................................
. fontspec info: "no-scripts"
.
. Font "Academicons" does not contain any OpenType `Script' information.
.................................................
! Undefined control sequence.
\LaTeX3 error:
Invalid operation fp_to_decimal(inf)
l.12 \newfontfamily{\AI}{Academicons}

I am using the following packages (actually, pandoc is rendering the R Markdown file and adds many of these packages)

\usepackage{lmodern}
\usepackage{amssymb,amsmath}
\usepackage{ifxetex,ifluatex}
\usepackage{fixltx2e} % provides \textsubscript
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage{mathspec}
\usepackage{fontspec}
\IfFileExists{upquote.sty}{\usepackage{upquote}}{}
\usepackage{microtype}
\usepackage[margin=1in]{geometry}
\usepackage{hyperref}
\usepackage{longtable,booktabs}
\usepackage{graphicx,grffile}
\usepackage{parskip}
\usepackage{titling}
\usepackage{academicons}

The issue appears to be with the use of Scale and fontspec... if I manually remove Scale=MatchLowercase then the file is processed, otherwise it throws this error.

\defaultfontfeatures{Ligatures=TeX,Scale=MatchLowercase}

Given that fontawesome5 is able to overcome this issue I was hoping that perhaps you might be able to apply a patch.

Thanks again!

The file generated from pandoc is attached with a .txt extension (would not accept .tex extension)

arXiv icon

It's said in the docs that the arXiv icon command is \aiarXiv but it doesn't work for me, while \aiArxiv does work.
