Hi @EnigmaCurry! As of today, the cloud controller manager assumes droplets have private networking enabled. Based on those logs I'm assuming you don't.

Not sure if it matters or not, my cluster droplets are not in my default DO project. However, I do note that the load balancer is spawned in my default project.

I also noticed that this droplet is not registered correctly. If it was it's droplet ID would be in the node.Spec.ProviderID field.

Did you happen to run the CCM on an existing cluster or was it a fresh cluster? i.e. was --cloud-provider=external set when the kubelet was registered?

EnigmaCurry avatar EnigmaCurry commented on May 15, 2024

I've reproduced this last night on one cluster, and today on a new cluster.
My project linked above bootstraps from scratch.

It looks like kubespray does not set cloud-provider, I can try applying that setting on a fresh cluster

from digitalocean-cloud-controller-manager.

andrewsykim avatar andrewsykim commented on May 15, 2024

Please do, not setting --cloud-provider=external when the kubelet registers will definitely lead to unexpected behaviours :)

from digitalocean-cloud-controller-manager.

EnigmaCurry avatar EnigmaCurry commented on May 15, 2024

hmm, flannel config is now hanging when I use that, but I think I'm now on the right track. I'll close this, keep working on it and reopen this if I can reproduce again using cloud-provider:external
Thanks!
