video_streamer's Introduction

VideoStreamer

Documentation will be added when we have a working version of this lib

Prepare

  • Download the DeckLink SDK and for mac, copy the include directory to projects/decklink/sdk/include

This library makes use of the following libraries:

  • x264
  • rapidxml
  • glxw (only for opengl apps)
  • glfw3 (only for opengl apps)
  • mp3lame
  • libfaac
  • libyuv
  • openssl
  • zlib
  • nanomsg (only for daemon, which is under development)
  • librtmp
  • libuv

Build system command

python rbs.py -t build -c clang -b debug -a 64 -s rapidxml,glxw,glfw,uv,lamemp3,rtmp,x264,openssl,zlib,nanomsg,libyuv

Things to be aware of

Windows .idl files

The DeckLink SDK uses .idl file that are used to genereate code (header/c files). When you want to use this code, make sure that you have not defined WIN32_LEAN_AND_MEAN as this seems to give problems with the interface keyword, which is a MSVC++ thing. Also, make sure to first include the DeckLink header (<decklink/DeckLink.h>) and then the windows.h if you need it. Also, make sure to include the <DeckLinkAPI.h> (generate .h file) as soon as possible

video_streamer's Issues

None synch frame download.

Hi!Great lib you have here.I am looking ath YUV grabber and wonder if I need hasNewFrame() if I don't use vsync? I mean I rendere frames in OpenGL as fast as possible and once I rendered the next frame I want to download it immediately.I don't exactly understand the idea behind hasNewFrame().Is it to keep fixed frame rate delay intact>? Thanks.

Video output frame size issue

Hi Roxlu.I think I talked to you already about this issue, but it was long ago and now I got back to try it again. The thing is that I see that I must supply framebuffer twice bigger to get a correct YUV frame.
So for example,if I want to get YUV of size 640x360 I need to provide size like 1280x720 or some weird size which is calulated internally by setupsizes method (max_w and max_h) which is 960x360 for 640x360 framebuffer size.I am not a big expert in video formats, but is is supposed to work this way?or it was the author intention to provide an output 2 times smaller than the input.

Thanks a lot!

PS: Btw,I developed a method to write to all 3 planes in one go using geometry shader and viewport arrays. Can drop you the code if you want :)
