this is the error I got until I added line 192 and import ssl. Line 192:
ssl._create_default_https_context = ssl._create_unverified_context
This is dangerous and you should never do that, as it deactivates certificate validation and allows Person in the Middle attacks.
The problem sounds like you have a Python version that is broken / outdated and / or has an outdated root CA store.

Python V3.10.4.1. It's on a QNAP NAS, the latest version they offer, the site runs on it

When I download the root CA from https://curl.haxx.se/ca/cacert.pem and use the, it works.
