Acme-tiny is still being maintained, although currently only for critical issues, as my work and personal life are taking priority right now.
I still use acme-tiny for my own projects, and if it breaks due to changes from Let's Encrypt, I will push fixes (since it affects my use of it, too). So please don't confuse stability with abandonment.
Eventually, I may get around to adding new features and/or reviewing non-critical issues, but in the meantime, I think that adding features in forked projects is great (hooray open source!).
