We have discussed that there are 2 kinds of init actions:

  1. init actions on local/host files (mounted in a local/docker container)
  2. init actions on containers files

We need to figure out how and if a devfile syntax should be able to specify the first type.

@elsony and @neeraj-laad will look at it and provide more details

After discussion we agreed that init actions on local/host files won't be supported in devfile 2.0.0 specification, and that events are the best way to specify actions (including init ones).
