Instructions out of order in prep work for fixed/growth mindset
The prep work encourages you to follow the instructions in order. The first document is https://github.com/dev-academy-programme/student-prep/blob/master/prep-curriculum/core-approach-to-learning.md
Under the 'But this is difficult' section, it implies you should already have read the fixed/growth mindset content.
You should by now have already read up on Growth mindset, but to recap, here is a table with some key differences:
However, your prep work home page has this content coming after. It may be better to reword this section, change the order content is provided in, or provide this summary content at a later stage of prep, after the content is covered.
prep-curriculum/tech-typing.md - outdated link for editor shortcuts
For shortcuts, try shortcutfoo. You'll want to know about some of the awesome Atom shortcuts.
This references Atom shortcuts and couldn't find any replacement VS Code shortcuts on the site. Should be updated with new link for VS Code ones, or removed.
prep-curriculum/tech-web-accessibility.md - broken link
Introduction to Web Accessibility (Google)
Google link directs to a 404 - is it available somewhere else?
Should include RAM requirements
8GB+ for performance
Slack channel naming conventions
In this repo it is mentioned like this:
Your cohort-specific channel E.g. #Nikau
But the foundations repo has this convention:
Jump onto your foundations specific slack channel (e.g. Kauri-2017)
Convention needs to be confirmed and updated.
Include Zoom in installations
Believe Zoom is introduced before this repo (as students need it for orientation), but as we require this for workshops and 1:1s, we should include this in our software list.
