Feature Request: Implement posix_fallocate like in glibc

The fallocate is system call is not guaranteed to succeed, but posix_fallocate in glibc is guaranteed to succeed. Could you implement/would you merge a posix_fallocate function that calls the cross-platform fallback if the system call fails?

My use case is fallocate on eCryptFS or NTFS mounted on Linux. The system call exists but the FS drivers don't support it.
