Kmod v33 introduced weakdep(s) and it (or tools around it) should be the ones managing the full life cycle of the mutable modules files.
In dkms we already have a Debian inspired workaround to remove such files. It recently got updated with a894e3b for weakdep. Although we should really poke Arch/kmod maintainer to update the hook as well.
Tl:Dr: try with above commit, if it doesn't work - send a patch to the Arch team ;-)
