get-shit-done is an easy to use command line program that blocks websites known to distract us from our work.

The thing that I like about this version is that it doesn't take any parameters. Just running the command toggles access to time-wasting sites.

After cloning this repository, put it in your $PATH and ensure it is executable.

Execute it as root because it modifies your hosts file and restarts your network daemon. Every time you run it, it'll toggle between work mode and play mode.

To toggle between work and play mode, simply run the command.

sudo get-shit-done.py

In the Windows explorer, right-click and make a shortcut to get-shit-done.py.

Then right-click on that shortcut and set the target to Python, like

C:\Users\you\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python39-32\python.exe get-shit-done.py

Then right-click on the shortcut again, and select "Pin to Start".

Then you can run it as administrator from the Start menu (by right-clicking on the tile, select More...).
