OK, Ctrl+Enter is always the one that moves phases. Alt+Enter doesn't exist. I think one of your players got confused.

Beginning the attack has to be its own shortcut because the game does not know that you want an objective when you have it targeted.

You can resolve the edge battle manually by double-clicking on a face-up edge card (or pressing ctrl+shift+e) but you don't have to. If you move to the conflict phase (or just do a strike) while still in the edge phase, it will resolve the edge phase with the visible edge cards on the table if you haven't already.

The shortcut used to be ctrl+e only, but people comlained that the mispressed ctrl+r sometimes which made them refresh their hand instead. In any case, pressing ctrl+enter while still in the edge battle won't end the whole engagement, it will just move to the conflict phase and auto-calculate the edge. If you want you can still play edge cards and manually resolve them in the conflict phase, in case you forgot something.

In that sense, my shortcuts are always consistent. If you want you can move through the whole engagement by simply using ctrl+enter and double-clicks.

Ctrl+Space does nothing. It just announces.

The targeting will be cleared automatically starting in 1.0.5
