MyDiary

Summary

I like Makoto Shinkai's (新海誠) movies very much! This project is just trying to create the app - "My Diary" in "your name." on Android. In this movie, "My Diary" is an important app between Taki(瀧) and Mitsuha(三葉). As a fan, I think maybe I can implement this app. If you also like "your name.", please join me to finish the "My Diary", and let it become real.

This project has be re-created in 2016-11-04 because there were some personal infos in the old git repository.

Why is there only the Android version?

In fact, Android version is more difficult than iOS, because this app is running on iOS in the movie. But I will only create the Android version for now because:

I don't have a mac for now :P
Android apks are easy to release.

So, maybe I will try to create an iOS version after this app is running.

Known issues

Requesting permissions dialog fail on HTC D820t [API 23], HUAWEI honor 7i [API 22]
Writing diary with location will crash on some Chineses device.

Use case

Because the DVD/BD aren't released yet, the use case is made from my memory and network information. If you have any idea or find some functionality that I miss, you can tell me or update the use case in /UML/MyDiary.mdj by starUML:

Flash back on China devices

Hi , I get some report from mail or google play.

Instead of a password, a finger print to lock/unlock can do better any way.

I love looking in repos to see inside chatter and also look at non-store apps I can compile, but this made me smile. I own this movie and watch it a few times a year. I can't comment on how the app works or even if the thing works, but I do know that the idea and thought out foal is truly a work of a person with imagination and passion. For the rest of my life I will use this app concept when discussing coding and originality that goes unnoticed in the grand scale of open-source development.

For Thai , the string "topic_dialog_delete_content"was lost the "%1$s".
This "%1$s" is topic's name in the app.

Can't upload Photo

On Samsung S7, I try to upload and it said "Photo Path Problem"

User selections lost on screen resize

Open the app and go to the setting screen, select custom theme, select colors and restart the activity by splitting screen, user selection is lost.

you could add synchronization with Google so that the notes are not deleted in case of error

Error while get my Location

It always gets errors when I tap the Location button.I live in China. Could you please find the bug?

Fix Japanese translation

Problem

There's a string.xml for Japanese already but some of them are incorrect or not natural.
"緊急狀況以外不要聯絡" is hard-coded. It should be 「緊急時以外かけちゃダメ！」

Keyboard opens 'lowercase' when adding Blog Title [Minor Bug]

Device: Android Note 3
Where/When: Adding a Blog Entry

Current Behavior: Keyboard opens in 'lowercase'.
Because of this, the entry title when entered becomes: example title

Expected Behavior: Keyboard opens in 'uppercase' so the first word is capitalized.
Entry title when entered should become: Example title

Description of problem: The keyboard does not automatically capitalize for the first word when entering a Blog Title. However, it does capitalize the first word when entering a Blog Entry. The most similar field (a single-line text field) is when adding an item to the ToDo lists which opens with the keyboard capitalized for the first word.

Possibly related to #3 - which had a problem with titles being 'ALLCAPS', meaning the title would have been EXAMPLE TITLE. The field may have been forced to be 'lowercase' by default to fix that bug, but I'll admit I haven't checked the code.

Japanese Label to English

Is this app available to change all of Japanese label to English?

Database Recommendation

In my opinion for further use I recommend to use Realm Database as local database.

Binding MVC pattern

Instead of using findViewById Google introduces a new way to bind view and controller by Data Binding.
It will reduce many tons of codes and easy to implements.
You should try it!

What the solution dose be to replace Google place picker in China?

I want to use Google place picker for making user select the place where they want , but the google service doesn't work in China. Does anyone have idea?
BTW, does geocoder work in China? I find some China user complaints issues about GPS.

Title of Entry doesn't change

When I edit the title of entry, the title at card doesn't change. (But when you click to open it, it's already changed.)

No way to recovery password

If I lost password, Then no way..
It should have password recovery method like google login, security answer, etc

Uppercase Topic name

Why when I create new topic, it's always automatically uppercase in every letter?

Vertical Image is flip

When I take the picture and upload to MyDiary, the image which is vertical is flip to horizontal.

拨打电话权限申请异常

我在com.kiminonawa.mydiary.contacts.CallDialogFragment.java中发现一个异常，因为问题有点复杂而且很奇怪，只能选择中文描述..
现象：点击联系人，申请CALL_PHONE权限时选择拒绝并“不再提示”，或者安装软件时拨打电话权限设为“拒绝”，那么下一次点击联系人试图打电话时，没有任何的提示，没有AlertDialog [CallDialogFragment.java Line:117-121]，也没有Toast。设置断点跟踪发现checkPermission(final int requestCode)方法内判断好像有问题，第一个if成立但requestPermissions()都没有执行。
出现问题的设备：HTC D820t [API 23], HUAWEI honor 7i [API 22]
奇怪的地方：以上问题没有在模拟器上出现 [Genymotion Nexus5X-6.0.0-API 23]
