The icon set is fantastic and more useful than the default ones in Visio. Pretty much all of them I need are there. But noticed that Azure Virtual Hub (inside of Azure Virtual WAN) is missing. Is that on the radar to create? It looks like this:
There is also a secured hub version that looks similar but is red.
The latest release seems very interesting, but going through the README page I cannot locate any instructions on how to download the content.
Is there a zip file anywhere with all the files in the latest release ?
Hi,
could you add your Power Shell script to collect the icons as well?
I think it would be very interesting to see where the different icons are collected from and how the visio stencil is created in the end.
There might even be room for improvement such as finding better places to attach the connectors to depending on the logo...
Is it a list of URLs you are iterating over to grab all SVGs or how does that work?
regards
Logic App Standard has several related icons that don't appear to be available in 3.8:
There also many icons for connectors. I am not sure if those are a must-have for architecture diagrams, but they come in handy for other purposes.
Hi,
i know this is more an Office 365 than Azure logo. However, you have Power BI in this icon set as well.
PowerApps: https://psuxemea.azureedge.net/Content/retail/assets/PA_logo.b7daae25b7fbb8372a8ea03e2cfdaaee.2.svg
Microsoft Flow : https://psuxemea.azureedge.net/Content/retail/assets/flow_logo.53055f6d0ed0d948806033a53b82197d.2.svg
You see all these logos on the bottom of https://flow.microsoft.com/de-DE/ .
Thanks
First, wanted to say thank you for such a great resource.
You mentioned in the description you imported SVGs into Visio's format, and that a complete collection in Visio format did not exist, and that some icons are missing.
I wanted to ask, have you also imported the SVGs from here?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=41937
In addition to issue/ feature request #52, I'd like to request that canvas sizes/ empty space/ padding is shaved off, but also keep the icons (or canvas rather, thus the icon file as a whole), square.
Icon for Azure Blob Storage is missing.
When dragging a v4.3 SVG into Diagrams, or copy and paste it from Windows Explorer, the icon ends up with a size of 1x1, and thus looses the height to width ratio.
Why is this problematic? Because some of the icons aren't a perfect square, and does not have padding to make them have a correct width to height ratio when the dimensions are 1:1.
It does not happen with other SVGs, for instance with the ones from Microsoft:
Here is a Microsoft Azure v10 SVG which gets imported as 18x18.

Hi,
I could be wrong but I think the color in the Elastic Database Pools is not correct.
Screenshot from the icon that is included in Microsoft_Cloud_AI_Azure_Service_Icon_Set_2019_09_11
When you have a look at ICONS_Azure-Full-Colour_V-1.5.png it will show some black on the database icons. This is also the case when used in Viso.
PS: Thanks for the effort in creating this stencil!
Hello,
I have an issue with shape shadows.
When I modify the shape with the setting Effects -> None
I try to reuse my modified shape in the current document where I had shapes from Azure-Full-Colour stensil with shadows, but for the modified shape: the shadow effect is always applied
There is no issues if I am using my modified shape in the new Visio document.
Does anybody have the same issue ?
Thank you for any help!
First of all - thanks! These are great.
Any possibility to remove the shadow and set the color to use the Theme color?

Azure Data Factory contains a set of icons that are not yet available in your stencil set:
Sadly those icons are embedded on TBD requires extracting with browser developer tools.
Priority:
Please let me know if you need any help finding those icons from the portal. I have saved the highest priority already locally and could share them if needed.
Hello, first off, great library, thank you for your great work!
In the Microsoft Azure Cloud Icons stencil, there is an "API App" shape. I see you have an "App Service API Definition" shape, but no "App Service API" counterpart, which would in my mind be the equivalent of the MS API App shape.
In comparison, you have both an (API Management) "API definition" shape, and an "API Management API" counterpart shape. It would be great if we had this for App Services too!
I would think that an App Service API shape would look similar to the App Service API Definition shape, but without the lines below that denote the "Definition" concept.
Again, great work, thank you for creating it! If I've overlooked this shape somewhere in your stencil, please let me know.
Hi,
thanks for the icon set.
I suggest to change the text for the data lake from "Datalake" to "Data Lake". See for example https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/data-lake-storage-introduction .

Visio is a prevalent tool, and yet some teams choose to use other diagramming tools such as draw.io. The Visio stencil can be easily transformed in a draw.io library by importing it. Not aware of a programmatic way to do this but it's pretty easy to do manually. Sample file attached.
Hi,
I found another typo for a service we heavily use: https://azure.microsoft.com/de-de/services/databricks/.
Thanks
AVD Workspace Icon is named as Log Analytics Workspace
Log analytics Workspace icon is missing
Thanks for the icons David :-)
For the IoT icons you currently have 'Iot' in the names instead of 'IoT' which looks strange. Any chance you could adapt your script to have the correct capitalisation?
I was searching the All Azure 3.5 for a connection icon (Microsoft.Network/connections) and could not see this, am I missing something?
Great job overall - just noticed on drawing that the latest symbol for API Management Service Gateway is not included.
Thanks for adding the arrows and boxes - it really speeds up drawing things like VNET Boundaries quicker. However one thing I noticed is that the boxes are locked to be a square shape rather than a rectangle. I know with some shapes in Visio I can unlock width/height under Developer/Shape Design/Protection
Could you disable the "aspect ratio" option for all of the box shapes?
Repro: Drag "A_Box-1" shape to canvas. Try to drag either horizontal or vertical handle out.
Expected Behaviour: Shape can be height can be expanded independently of shape width
Hi David,
Can you please have the Application Proxy icon from Azure AD added. I cannot find it in your latest release (3.3).
Thanks!
Hey David,
I have been using your stencil for a while now and am really happy with the quality. Quick question though: is there an easy way to change the font of the whole stencil, like one style that is the base for all other styles associated with it? I could not find it myself and the stencil overrides the default font of my drawings. If you'd rather discuss this over some form of IM/DM you can close this issue but if you have an easy solution, others might stumble upon it here as well.
Thanks for your time and work on these stencils!
See https://azure.microsoft.com/de-de/services/devops/ .
Thanks
AKS has many "child" resources, such as workspaces, node pools, and services that might be useful to represent in diagrams.
It would seem to make sense the add the File Share icon in Storage because it's based on Azure Storage.
Would be good to get these 3 added.
Hi David,
Could you post some instruction on how you got the Icon Search to work? I have tried everything including in these two blog posts and still your icons don't show up in search.
https://eosfor.wordpress.com/2017/04/10/visio-2016-search-is-not-working/
https://eosfor.github.io/2018/another-visio-search-problem/
I noticed the stencils are in English (Australia) so I changed them to be English (United Kingdom) which is my display language but it had no effect :(
I might be missing something, but whilst I can find the icon for Azure Policy the following do not appear to be in the Azure Management pack
Policy Initiative
Policy Assignment
Policy Exception
I am currently reusing the Policy Icon, which can prove to be confusing.
Hello,
First of all, thanks for you work !
Is there a quick way to remove the shadow for all the shapes without modify each shape?
Is there a quick method to remove the shadow effect from all shapes without having to adjust each one individually?
Thanks.
Hi there
Thanks for the work. I still can't get the search to work but the problem is certainly between the keyboard and the chair.
In the meantime, I believe you are missing Azure Service Bus unless I missed it.
Cheers
Manu
Hi,
I think the Azure prefix should be removed from all icons, or is there any reason to it?
E.g. why is it "SQL Database" / "Analysis Services" and "Azure Data Factory" / "Azure Function".
regards
Felix
Hi,
in you postprocessing an creation of SVG files it would be very nice if all icons would be square and same size.
Have a look at the following behaviour in PowerPoint. One can just drag&drop the SVG files there.
Thanks
Hi,
I very much like this icon set.
For me to introduce this to colleagues a huge usability improvement would be if a PowerPoint file with all icons would be created as well.
Idea:
Would be awesome!
Would it be possible to bind double-click even to open shape text for editing?
Official stencil pack and e.g. Pereira's pack support this but yours have the best quality and most of the shapes. (Some are missing but I will create a new ticket about them.)
hi, is there a plan to develop below icon ?
Hi,
Sorry for this since it probably is not something wrong with the shape files here but Visio (as usual) but since you have dealt with search problems before you might have seen this. Feel free to just close it, this is not a Visio support after all ๐
So I read through the list to fix the search and it worked, but when I removed the extra files from my download folder I started seeing this behavior:
And the search pane is really slow.
I tried to reindex the My Shapes catalog, redid the entire index from settings, reinstalled Visio but nothing fixed it. Then I added the files back in download and now it works again. So I looked at the Stencil in the result and it points to the download folder not the My Shapes folder.
If I search in Windows explorer it is correct.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it? (I could ofc just keep a copy of the files in my download folder.
I understand that Dark Mode is still an "experimental" feature. I am curious to know the difference in results. Example provided in the documentation section Update version 2.5 20/04/2020
result shows the text below each shape with white (or foreground colour) adjusted for dark mode. However, when I am trying the same shapes, Text below renders in Black foreground colour and hence not readable in Dark mode.
What trick am I missing?
When opening the file Azure_Drawing-Tools_V-3.6.vssx
, it is listed in the Stencils as Azure_All-icons_V-3.6
