Black screen with freshly installed games and enabled partial nandemu

If you try to start a disc game with enabled partial nandemu the very first
time (the game was never launched from original disc and not launched with
disabled nandemu from usbloader gx) it is resulting in a black screen.
So I have to start the game at least once with disabled nandemu (then the
discid is written to uid.sys?) and then I can enable the partial nandemu again
and the game is also working with the nand emulation.

I think that happens since daveboal disabled the uid.sys support for the
emunand.

Block IOS Reload is not working on slot 249 base 56

using D2X v8 beta + r1141 ULGX

Tested Metroid Prime 3 on the trilogy disk, slot 249/r56 (game settings block
ios reload on, anti 002 fix on, sneak video and disc patch enabled)

This worked with D2X v7 and ULGX 1133 last i checked.

Workaround
set block ios reload to auto/global in game settings and IOS to slot 250/base
57 and all 3 games boot fine

SaveGameManagerGX running under neek2o using d2x

SaveGameManagerGX: partial works; boots up the 1st time but Wii Motes become
unsynced; it will boot up to where you can see the saves and everything but
sometimes it will only boot up to the loading ios249.

I'm using d2x7final IOS249[56] under neek2o on USB from bootmii nand dump.
Homebrew is loaded via Postloader3 on neek2o.

Some VC N64 games don't load from emulated nand

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load Paper Mario, Majora's Mask or Super Smash Bros., from emulated nand
(either full or partial emulation)
2. The game gets stuck at the "you will need the classic controller" screen
3. The Wii's power button has to be held down to force a shutdown

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Game expected to load completely like other VC N64 games

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
d2x v7 with bases 37, 38, 53, 55, 56, 57, 58, on Wii System Menu 4.3U
I tried loading the games with all the bases noted above and none worked.
I tested this with both WiiFlow and Mighty Channels.
I also tested a d3x v7 version compiled with the "rev17-like" feature enabled,
but the result was the same.

Please provide any additional information below.
Other N64 games load properly.
I've tested:
Super Mario 64: works
Mario Kart 64: works
Yoshi's Story: works
F-Zero X: works
Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time: works
Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask: doesn't work
Paper Mario: doesn't work
Super Smash Bros.: doesn't work

The three games that don't load for me, work fine when installed on the Wii's
real nand.

I know this has been mentioned before, but wanted to make it an official entry.

Regards.

Blacks Ops not working for IOS base 56

Call of Duty Black Ops doesn't work when the cIOs that runs it is installed
under the following conditions:

Working IOS: 36

Can't get to play online Black Ops with v9 beta(r47) and nand emu

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Tested Wiiflow rev175, 205,221,222 and d2x v9beta
2. Emulated game saves = ON
3. Call of Duty : Black Ops (Zombies)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The game starts and can get to the game lobby, where I see and 'ready up' with
other players. However, when the game starts to load (cartoon screen - Zzzzzt!)
it just stays like that with with circular loading icon spinning.

Normally if there was a network error at that point it would kick you back to
game lobby, but it just stays on that screen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

d2x v9 beta - Wiiflow - 4.3E (The game is NTSC)

Please provide any additional information below.

Going back to d2x v7/v8 and it works fine (can play the game online)
Can't try with Emulated save = OFF because real save is buggered, the game asks
for update (wrong region, would need to change shop channel?)

Didn't try other loaders, but couldn't get Club Penguin to go online either
with v9

Potential Enhancement: Nand Emulation Options

I opened an issue with usbloader_gx and they seem to think it is not possible
with the existing d2x...

I thought I would open an issue over here to see if it is possible to get it
implemented.

Right now usbloader_gx supports the following situations:
Partial NandEmulation (for Wii Games) SaveData is redirected to EmuNand
Full NandEmulation (for Wii Games) Save data, Mii's and Config are redirected
to EmuNand

Partial NandChannelEmulation (for Wiiware/VC): Channels are launched from
EmuNand and save data is on the same emuNand
Full NandChannelEmulation (for Wiiware/VC): Channels are launched from EmuNand
and SaveData, Mii and Config are accessed from same EmuNand.

usbloader_gx also supports launching wiiware/VC installed on the real nand, but
there are no options for partial or full nand emulation.

I would like to make these options more flexible. For example, I would like to
be able to keep all my saves, mii's and config in my real nand and have all of
that utilized by Wii Games, Wiiware on RealNand and WiiWare on EmuNand.

Right now this is possible with the Mii's and the Config but not with the Saves
since Wiiware launched from Emunand always use save data on that same emunand.

Please see usbloader_gx issue here:
http://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/issues/detail?can=1&start=0&num=100&q=rep
orter%3Ageogolem&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Priority%20Owner%20Summary&groupby
=&sort=&id=2126

Would this be possible?

WiiMod running under neek2o using d2x

WiiMod: works except for ATD function randomly gives DSI error but installing
wads, SM, dumping, all seem to work fine; you will get a Cannot get TMD ticket
error but it'll only show up 3 times before you get to the app itself. The TMD
ticket error will also appear when the app checks for IOS but will only show a
limited number of times before it goes back to app.

I'm using d2x7final IOS249[56] under neek2o on USB from bootmii nand dump.
Homebrew is loaded via Postloader3 on neek2o.

Project home page information

this has nothing to do with the software but I almost made a huge mistake
trying to install a Vwii version on my Wii and i feel that the disclaimer under
"project home" "summary" should state the difference between the original and
Vwii versions.
I was confused for a while until i found a statement saying Vwii is for the
Wii-U and i assume that people less observant may not figure out this fact
since it is not obvious.
this is not a rant or complaint, I was just concerned.

USBLoader GX 2.3 & 3.0 (official and beta builds)
WiiFlow Mod official release of r590 and betas up to r594 as released by Fix
for testing of Devolution support.

SM 4.3U and cIOS249 (tested with v6, v7 final, v8 final and v9 beta r47 & beta
r49

Please provide any additional information below.
The only way I can successfully "install" games is to use cIOS 250 instead of
249. I am using retail discs, and make certain there are no scuffs, scratches,
fingerprints, etc anywhere on the discs. I have tried NSMB Wii, Skyward Sword,
Super Mario All-Star Collection, Twilight Princess, and Metal Slug Collection.

SIMS 3 - BLACK SCREEN/NO LOADING

What steps will reproduce the problem?

- The game SIMS 3 fails to load after updating to D2X v7 FINAL
- SIMS 3 UK(PAL) version on a UK(PAL) console

I tried to load SIM 3 using 249 (56) on USB LOADERGX (4 different versions)

- Reverting back to D2X v7 Beta 1D get's it working on all versions of USB
LOADER again,

Has something in v7 FINAL broke it, or could it be something in USBLOADERGX not
like loading from the v7 FINAL ?

Can't save game with The Beatles Rock Band on emulated NAND

1. Load The Beatles : Rock Band with partial NAND emulation or full NAND
emulation (I tried with USB Loader GX 2.3 r1123)
2. The game tries to create a new savegame (if a game save already exists, goto
the in-game menu Options > Manage Data > Save Data)
3. The game is unable to save on emulated NAND, and there is an error message :
"Saving has failed for an unknown reason. Selected storage device is no longer
available"

Guitar Hero 5 Freezes at song selection with EmuNAND & DLC

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run GH5 with Full or Partial Emulated NAND
2. Download DLC (works fine)
3. In any of the song selection menus, scroll through songs

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of consistently playing song previews, the system sometimes freezes
instead. All animation stops and the Wii remote gets stuck on. Must power down
by holding the power button on the Wii.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Happens with D2X V7 final, V8R41 and V8R42

Please provide any additional information below.
EmuNAND is on USB hard drive with significant amount of DLC.
Behavior is the same under CFG and WiiFlow.

The IOS Reload block requires the actual IOS to be installed

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Uninstall IOS55
2. Play Wii Sports Resort from usb with NeoGamma with IOS Reload block enabled
3. Try to watch the WM+ from inside the game

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected is that it plays the video, instead it resets to the system menu. And
if the game would just reset to the system menu, it should return to HBC
instead, like it does when selecting Wii Menu from the home menu.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

d2x v7 final base IOS56

Please provide any additional information below.

After reinstalling IOS55 everything works correctly again.

Choppy singing games

Singing games like "U-Sing 2" and "We Sing Deutsche Hits" (German PAL) have
serious sync problems through USB.
However those games works great through DVD and SD card. Hermes cIOS 224[57]
works great too.

The issue is systematical and easy to reproduce.
From my tests with U-Sing 2 the lag appears:
 - with rev19, rev20, rev21 and all d2x (can't test lower revs since base 57 is required)
 - through USB only
 - with any USB device
 - even if the watchdog is didabled

I suspect the lag appears in U-Sing 2 because the HDD is continuously accessed
while singing (the led never stops blinking).

Pretty sure it's a EHCI module issue.
In fact with the new experimental EHCI module the lag has almost disapperared,
but unfortunately that module is not stable yet.
